Boston Blue Midseason Finale Preview Reveals Penny and Emotional Scenes

Recent images from the season finale of Boston Blue, titled Collateral Damage, suggest the episode will be full of both intense action and strong emotional moments.

New photos show Reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson) and his grandson, Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner), sharing a deeply emotional hug while visiting the grave of Jonah’s father, Ben Silver. Jonah appears to be upset, and Reverend Peters offers comfort. Jonah also has a visible black eye, suggesting he was recently in a fight.

Viewers will be introduced to a new character, Penny Bravo, in the midseason finale. She’ll be played by Xochitl Gomez, known for her role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Penny has a mysterious background and could become romantically involved with Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen), the son of Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), a main character on the show.

Preview images from Boston Blue also reveal scenes with Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) and Edwin in a courtroom, and Sean talking with Jonah. We also see Danny and his partner, Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), investigating a strip club and questioning the employees.

Okay, so the midseason finale sounds intense. Basically, Mae’s past is catching up to her, and she’s getting heat from everyone – her family and the public. Meanwhile, Sarah is seriously wrestling with guilt and that’s driving her to go all-in on finding justice, even if it means taking big chances. On top of that, Lena and Danny are working a really tough murder case, and Jonah’s still reeling from his dad’s death, which is putting a huge strain on the whole family. It sounds like everything’s about to blow up!

You can watch new episodes of Boston Blue on Fridays at 10 PM Eastern Time. The first half of the season ends on December 19, 2025, and the show will be back on CBS with new episodes on February 26, 2026.
