Friends and family are mourning the loss of Brandon Blackstock. 

A talent manager, who had been married to Kelly Clarkson for nearly a decade prior to their 2022 divorce, passed away following a multi-year fight against cancer. His representative verified the news in a statement to NBC News, confirming that he was 48 years old at the time of his death.

With deep regret, we announce that Brandon Blackstock has sadly lost his life. For over three years, he courageously fought against cancer. His final moments were peaceful, with his loved ones by his side.

Brandon’s representative went on to say, “We appreciate your concern and kind wishes. We kindly request that everyone respects the family’s need for privacy as they navigate through this challenging period.

The day before, Kelly, who has children River Rose (age 11) and Remington “Remy” Alexander (age 8) with Brandon, announced that she was unwell and consequently canceled the rest of her scheduled performances in Las Vegas.

I regretfully announce that I must delay the rest of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. Although I usually prefer to keep my personal affairs private, the past year has been challenging as my children’s father has been unwell. At this time, I have to focus all my attention on them.
