Brian Littrell’s Heartwarming Duet with Son on American Idol Leaves Judges in Tears!

This audition? Larger than life.

On March 10 during the debut of American Idol‘s season 23, Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys performed alongside his son Baylee Littrell in an audition. This act left judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie speechless.

Following the 22-year-old performing his own composition on the guitar, the esteemed judges encouraged him to bring Brian into the space for a joint performance. The father and son duo subsequently sung the chorus of the young man’s original tune in harmony.

After your duet performance with your famous father, Carrie remarked, “Usually, having a star like that join you might reflect poorly on someone else. But not for you. You stood tall next to him. You didn’t back off or fade into the background. Instead, it felt like you claimed the moment as your own.

Baylee gave his dad credit for getting him into music and passing down some of his talents.

He mentioned on the show, “I think I inherited my talent for singing from Dad, and I hope to honor him with it today.” In essence, he expressed that music is a family tradition, but when it comes to dancing, it seems like that particular skill didn’t get passed down genetically.

Baylee stated, “Walking in my father’s professional shoes is intimidating, as I view his musical career as truly exceptional and unparalleled in history.

For the singer-songwriter, music has proven to be something that he simply can’t resist pursuing.

Baylee clarified, “I truly yearn for a different path, but without music, I simply cannot imagine living my life in any other manner.

Speaking candidly, Brian mentioned that many view his industry background as an attractive advantage. However, he quickly added, it’s not a walk in the park. Furthermore, he has often emphasized that the individual in question is ten times more gifted than Brian himself ever was.

Following a duet with his son, Brian found himself moved as Carrie, Luke, and Lionel collectively extended a heartfelt invitation for Baylee to carry on with the performance, leaving him teary-eyed.

“I’m gonna cry,” he gushed. “I’m crying.”

I can’t believe how far Kelly Clarkson, mom of River and Remy, has come since that life-changing moment on the first season of American Idol back in 2002. Now residing in New York City, she’s racked up an impressive collection of three Grammys, scored three number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, judged on NBC’s The Voice, and is currently killing it with her own award-winning daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. I’m absolutely obsessed with this incredible journey she’s taken!

In September 2008, the second runner-up from the second season unveiled significant disclosures. He announced the birth of his son, Parker, with his close friend and music producer Jaymes Foster, which led him to come out publicly. On “Good Morning America,” he explained, “I can’t raise a child and teach him how to lie or hide things. At the same time, I also don’t ever want to bring him up in an environment where it’s not acceptable for him to be exactly who he is, no matter what.”

Following this, the well-known redhead transitioned from music to politics, even attempting to secure a seat in Congress in 2016. After falling short in the election, the singer produced a documentary chronicling his experiences. However, he hasn’t abandoned music entirely, as evidenced by his tour of the United States with season two winner Ruben Studdard in 2023 and 2024.

Following his victory in season two of Idol, Ruben garnered a Grammy nomination and put out several hit albums. In 2013, the artist appeared on The Biggest Loser as a contestant, earning a lot of fan affection. Despite being eliminated twice, he learned important lessons from the show.

Even though Clay and he have remained close, Ruben eventually found his lifelong companion in wife Kristin, who gave birth to their second child in 2024.

It turns out that the Season Three champion is expressing gratitude for every phase of her journey. In an interview with TopMob News last December, she said, “Life throws challenges at us, we stumble, then we rise again.” Despite going through some tough times, she added, “For me, losing everything twice and having to battle my way back, it feels great.”

Her recent accomplishments include the birth of her daughter Keziah in 2021 with husband Kendall Taylor, and a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the remake of The Color Purple. This North Carolina native, who is also mother to 23-year-old daughter Zion, stated, “I want to savor this moment and know that I’ve earned it through my hard work.

Although she didn’t win season three, her musical talent certainly shone through: First, an Oscar in 2006 for “Dreamgirls,” followed by a Grammy in 2017 for the “The Color Purple” musical adaptation. She also served as a judge on “The Voice.” Her upcoming project, which she’s working on as a mom to son David, who is 15 years old, is her own talk show.

From the instant she graced the stage of American Idol, Underwood secured her position in popular culture. As predicted, not only did she claim victory in season four, but she’s since reigned supreme as the queen of country music.

Following this triumph, she teamed up with fellow artist Brad Paisley to host the Country Music Association Awards for over a decade. In addition to managing her music career and hosting responsibilities, the singer behind “Jesus Take The Wheel” is a mother to her two sons, sharing this role with retired NHL center Mike Fisher.

2024 marked the announcement that Carrie would be joining American Idol once more, stepping into Katy Perry’s role as one of the show’s esteemed judges this time around.

Four years ago, the second place finalist from the fourth season is currently married and has four children: three sons and a daughter. After experiencing severe health issues in 2006, the southern rock musician has put out three successful albums since his time on American Idol.

With his large mane of hair and booming voice that resonates vividly (reminding us all of his electrifying performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” during the fourth season), Constantine was an ideal candidate for the Broadway production of “Rock of Ages,” earning him a Tony nomination.

The father to 14-year-old Malena, Constantine continues to perform his music and grace Broadway stages, with plans to appear in “Rock & Roll Man” during 2023.

Following his win in season five, the “Silver Fox” saw his self-titled album achieve platinum status and took on a role in a Broadway production of “Grease”. In 2016, he transitioned from music to television, becoming the host of “State-Plate”, a show centered around farm-to-table dining. Despite this shift, he has remained dedicated to his initial passion and still tours with his music.

Before the Justin Bieber craze, there was McPhee mania that propelled Katharine into both singing and acting careers, with her most notable roles being in the Broadway-inspired show “Smash” and the drama “Scorpion”. She has been married to David Foster since 2019 and is now a mother to their musically-inclined son Rennie. In an interview with TopMob News in 2023, Katharine expressed her hope that Rennie would follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming proficient in various musical instruments. “I would love for him to learn multiple instruments like his dad,” she said, adding that they are not pressuring him but letting him explore on his own. She believes he is on the right path towards achieving this goal.

Following his stint on “American Idol,” season five finalist known for his hit single “Wait for You” traveled to Angola, collaborating with former judge Kara DioGuardi to promote Malaria No More. In 2010, Elliott garnered attention after surviving Chile’s earthquake and tweeting about the event. He continues his musical career and is a father to Camilla, sharing parenthood with Karen Cruz.

In the fifth season of American Idol, the country music artist placed sixth, but since then, she’s appeared in Hallmark’s Christmas in Graceland and received three Daytime Emmy nominations for her TV show Pickler & Ben. Tragically, her husband Kyle Jacobs took his own life in February 2023. In the aftermath, she has been deeply reflecting on their shared past. As she shared with People magazine in 2023, one of the most profound lessons her husband imparted was during times of crisis: “If you don’t know what to do, ‘do nothing, just be still.'” Following this advice, she has decided to remain calm and present in the face of adversity.

At only the youngest-ever victor in season six, she ignited a lot of excitement back in 2007. Her “Battlefield” concert tour took her to 35 cities across the U.S., and to make things even more impressive, she made her Broadway debut in 2010, starring in the musical “In the Heights.” Since then, her success and good fortune have continued, culminating in the birth of her first son with husband Dana Isaiah in May 2018. In the years following, she has revisited “Idol” and participated in the 31st season of “Dancing With the Stars.

The champion of season seven’s hit song “Time of My Life” symbolizes his musical triumph, yet it could also encapsulate his ventures beyond the stage. In the year 2010, he traveled to Ethiopia as a representative for the United Nations, aiming to empower women in that country. Additionally, he participated in the Race for Hope in D.C., fundraising for brain cancer research in memory of his brother Adam, who passed away from the illness in 2009.

Since tying the knot with Racheal Stump in 2015, this persistent musician has continued touring and released his newest single “TABOS” in 2022.

Following his runner-up position alongside David during season seven, this singer undertook a two-year religious service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile. Upon his 2014 return, he has persistently pursued his singing career. He publicly acknowledged his LGBTQ+ identity in June 2021. On Instagram in October, he expressed, “It’s been an amazing journey learning to embrace myself,” and hopes that by living openly, he can inspire others to do the same.

Although often overshadowed in media attention by his runner-up Adam Lambert, the season eight winner has quietly achieved success with his second album titled after himself. Launched in November 2009, it made its entrance at position 11 on the Billboard 200, and one of its tracks, “I Need to Know,” was showcased during an episode of The Vampire Diaries.

Meanwhile, this star has been expanding his family, having welcomed three children with his longtime girlfriend Katy O’Connell.

If being popular were an award, the runner-up from the eighth season would be a homerun champion. After his appearance on the reality show, he’s put out numerous albums, led tours, accumulated numerous nominations (including a Grammy recognition), followed in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury as the lead vocalist for Queen, and even starred in Fox’s revamp of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” He also served as a temporary judge on “Idol” and opened the 2019 Oscars with a performance of “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions.

In the year following season 8 of “American Idol,” I was privileged to tie the knot with my beloved Leyicet Peralta in 2012. Together, we’ve been blessed with four beautiful children.

In 2021, the three-time Grammy nominee put out a Christian music album called “Jesus People”. Additionally, he owns an eyewear brand known as Danny Gokey Eyewear.

Following his inclusion in the finalists’ summer tour in 2010 as the season nine winner of Idol, Lee began his solo music career. In 2012, he married model-actress Jonna Walsh, whom he met during the filming of his first video post-Idol. Today, this popular artist is a renowned singer-songwriter, with several of his songs featured on shows such as The Walking Dead.

In season nine, the rocker who came in second place to Lee DeWyze, known for her resemblance to Janis Joplin, married musician Brian Walker and launched her debut album, “Farmer’s Daughter,” in December 2010. However, she lost her record deal when RCA disbanded Arista, J Records, and Jive Records. She made her acting debut on the second season of ABC’s “Body of Proof.”

In May 2013, the singer parted ways with her husband. Following her divorce, she shared with The Boot that her second album, “All That For This,” represented a new phase in her life.

Since then, the mother of two has released albums such as “Alive” in 2017 and “HitchHiker” in 2022.

The season 10 winner, who went on to become the first “Idol” champion since Ruben to debut his first album, titled “Clear as Day,” at number one on the Billboard 200, was honored as New Artist of the Year at the 2011 American Country Awards. He also performed the national anthem before Game 1 of the World Series that year. In June 2018, this singer, known for hits like “This Is It” and “Five More Minutes,” tied the knot with his long-term partner, Gabi Dugal. Their son, Avery, was born in October 2022.

In the end, the beloved artist from our country came in second place behind Scotty, yet she still managed to secure a record deal and launched her first studio album, “Wildflower,” in October 2011. After her stint on Idol, this singer shared the stage with Scotty at the 2011 CMT Music Awards, made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry, and even teamed up with Martina McBride to perform at the CMA Music Festival.

Later in 2017, she received her first nomination from the CMAs for Best New Artist, following the achievement of her album “Road Less Traveled.” She also ventured into acting and appeared in a film with the same title.

The singer known as “Thicc As Thieves” announced her engagement to Cam Arnold during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry in November 2022.

In the tenth season, the contestant ended up in sixth place. This wasn’t entirely his fault, as the judges had used their one-time save from five weeks earlier. Despite this, he was a fan favorite. He showcased his talent on the American Idol Live tour, collaborated with fellow finalist and rumored love interest Haley Reinhart on a cover of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” and eventually signed with jazz label Concord.

His first album, self-titled, was launched in 2012. This was followed by “I Put A Spell On You” in 2018 and “Jazz” in 2019.

Initially eliminated during season 10’s pre-voting rounds, Allen made a remarkable comeback with two chart-topping singles in 2018 – “Best Shot” and “Make Me Want To”. This success earned him the Country Music Association Award for New Artist of the Year in 2021.

In April 2023, Allen and his wife, Alexis Allen, announced they were expecting their third child while also announcing the end of their two-year marriage. Just a month later, accusations of sexual assault and abuse were made against him by his former manager in a lawsuit. However, he admitted to infidelity, apologizing publicly to Alexis for embarrassing her with his affair. Yet, he denied the sexual misconduct allegations, stating that his relationship with his former manager was consensual.

Shortly after the birth of their son, Cohen Ace James, in September, the couple expressed their intention to reconcile and repair their union.

Following his victory in season 11, the musician climbed to the peak of music charts with his chart-topping single “Home,” which was also the theme tune for NBC’s coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics. His most recent album, titled “Drift Back, was released in June of this year.”

In the year 2015, he exchanged vows with his girlfriend, Hannah Blackwell, at a private ceremony surrounded by loved ones. Four years after their wedding, they became parents to their first child, a son named Patch.

The Season 16 winner hinted to TopMob News before the release of her album “Whirlwind” in 2019, a year following her “Idol” triumph, that the songs on the album are quite diverse. She mentioned that she can’t choose one particular sound to stick with because she adores them all so much and finds it challenging to remain in just one genre. However, her 2023 single “SOS I’m In Love” carries a clear perspective. To clarify, she is disclosing her relationship with musician Gabe Burdulis after her breakup from Season 16 runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson.

After finishing as the runner-up in season 16, the singer has primarily dedicated their time to producing new music and seizing the benefits that come with being on ABC’s series. In an interview with TopMob News, Caleb Lee expressed, “I’ve always been passionate about music and dreamed of becoming an artist. However, my experience in the entertainment industry broadened significantly. I was fortunate enough to attend Luke Bryan’s final show for his tour and even had the chance to perform a song with him on stage.” His latest album, titled Southern Galactic, was released in October 2023.

Following her third-place finish on season 16 of American Idol, the country singer known as “I Hope” dedicated herself to completing her album. She expressed her enthusiasm about performing at Stagecoach and touring with Brad Paisley, calling it the perfect finale to all her endeavors. “It’s mind-blowing to go on tour with him,” she shared with TopMob News.

Approximately two years after the birth of their first child, daughter Baylah, with fellow Idol alum Cade Foehner, they expanded their family by welcoming son Augustine in October 2022. In February 2024, they welcomed their third child into the world.
