Following Netflix’s announcement that the fifth season of Bridgerton will focus on the romance between Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Sterling (Masali Baduza), intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot offered a glimpse into the show’s upcoming intimate moments.
She jokingly warned husbands on her Instagram Stories on March 26 that their wives might leave them after seeing season 5, sharing a picture of Hannah and Masali as evidence.
The upcoming season, set two years later, will center on Francesca and her developing relationship with Michaela, the cousin of her deceased husband, John Stirling (Victor Alli).
As a lifestyle expert, I’m telling you, this season is going to be steamy! Lizzy’s been a key part of the romance on this show since the very beginning. You might remember her incredible work bringing Sophie Baek (played by Yerin Ha) and Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) together – talk about a beautiful pairing! She really knows how to build that connection, and I expect more of the same this time around.
The main actors in season four understood how crucial those intensely romantic moments were for developing their characters’ relationships.
Honestly, when I heard Yerin talk about those scenes, it just made so much sense to me. She said it wasn’t about being gratuitous or anything, but just a natural progression of what the characters were feeling. Like, it wasn’t there to be steamy, it was steamy because the emotion demanded it. It’s such a relief to hear her explain it like that – it just proves they weren’t thrown in randomly, and everything has a purpose! I knew it, I just knew it!
The actors had real chemistry, which made their romantic scenes even more captivating.

We just let things unfold naturally,” Yerin explained. “We wanted to see what developed on its own. I really believe in letting things happen without trying to control them, and I don’t want to make anyone feel pressured or like I’m trying to manipulate their feelings about me.
She explained that it really came down to trusting him, which meant letting go of some control, and that was a bit frightening. However, as soon as she met Luke, she felt comfortable enough to relax and see where things went.

Now it’s Hannah and Masali’s moment to take center stage, and the show’s creator, Jess Brownell, shares her thoughts on how significant their love story is.
The show’s fifth season will heavily focus on longing and desire, according to an interview with Netflix’s Tudum on March 24th. The creator feels it’s a significant moment for television, acknowledging that while many shows have portrayed LGBTQ+ love, dedicating an entire season of Bridgerton to a relationship between women is particularly noteworthy.
As Francesca embarks on a new search for love, be sure to check out these other captivating shows we think you’ll enjoy.
