Bridgerton Season 4 Confirmed to Include 5 Characters from ‘Queen Charlotte’ Show

As a big fan of both Bridgerton and its prequel, Queen Charlotte, I was thrilled to hear that some characters from Queen Charlotte will actually show up in Season 4 of Bridgerton! After the first couple of seasons of Bridgerton did so well, Netflix made Queen Charlotte to tell the story of the Queen’s younger years. It was always meant to be a single season, though, a way to give us some backstory on a key character who wasn’t really explored in the original Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn. It’s exciting to see those worlds colliding!

Since Queen Charlotte took place in the same city as Bridgerton – London, England – the show included characters viewers already knew from the first two seasons of Bridgerton. As Bridgerton prepares for its fourth season, those characters, now older, will reappear, including Queen Charlotte herself, continuing their story within the Bridgerton universe.

Just like with Season 3, Netflix is releasing Season 4 of Bridgerton in two parts. The first four episodes will be available starting January 29, 2026, and the remaining four episodes will be released on February 26, 2026.

Every Queen Charlotte Character Who Will Be in Bridgerton Season 4

Queen Charlotte

The main character from the Bridgerton spin-off will return in the next season of the original series, as she plays a significant role. Queen Charlotte wasn’t part of the Bridgerton novels; she was created specifically for the show, so her future storyline is currently unknown.

I, like many fans, thought that once Queen Charlotte found out Penelope was Lady Whistledown, they wouldn’t just stop there. We all remember how much the Queen enjoyed the challenge of uncovering Lady Whistledown’s identity, so it would have been really surprising if their story ended simply because Penelope was revealed. I figured they’d find some new way to playfully compete or challenge each other.

The series Queen Charlotte explores the early life of the queen, showing viewers how she met and fell in love with the king. It reveals the experiences that shaped her into the woman we see in Bridgerton, and also highlights the beginnings of her important relationships with characters like Lady Danbury and Brimsley.

Lady Agatha Danbury

The show Queen Charlotte explained the surprising origins of Lady Danbury’s marriage – she was promised to Lord Danbury as a child. It also showed why she disliked her husband and how she ended up working for Queen Charlotte. Beyond her marriage, the series explored Lady Danbury’s past, including a romantic relationship with Lord Ledger. This connection was significant because Lord Ledger was also the father of Violet Bridgerton, revealing a family tie that viewers of the Bridgerton series now understand.

It’s still unknown what role Lady Danbury will play in Season 4 of Bridgerton, but many fans believe she might fill the role of Mrs. Gibbons from the books. In An Offer from a Gentleman, Mrs. Gibbons acts as a mentor and helper to Sophie Baek, who becomes Benedict Bridgerton’s love interest. Because An Offer from a Gentleman is similar to the story of Cinderella, viewers are hoping Lady Danbury will take on a significant role, like that of the fairy godmother.

Violet Bridgerton

Young Violet Bridgerton made an appearance in Queen Charlotte. She was portrayed as the daughter of Lord Ledger, who had a past relationship with Lady Danbury, as shown in the prequel series. Interestingly, she also appeared in the main Bridgerton timeline, specifically in the finale of Queen Charlotte, alongside Lady Danbury.

Violet Bridgerton has been an important character throughout the series, and that will continue in Season 4. She’ll be involved in Benedict’s developing relationship with Sophie Baek, while also likely continuing to explore a potential romance with Marcus Anderson.

It’s a surprising twist that Marcus is actually Lady Danbury’s brother, creating a connection between Violet and Lady Danbury that comes full circle. As shown in Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury once loved Violet’s father, and now Violet has fallen for Lady Danbury’s brother.

Brimsley

Brimsley has been Queen Charlotte’s loyal assistant for many years. The series Queen Charlotte showed how he started serving her when he was young and how close they became. The show also suggested a romantic connection between Brimsley and Reynolds, but explained that the expectations of their roles and society prevented them from being together openly.

In Bridgerton, Brimsley is Queen Charlotte’s most reliable confidant and assistant. He helps her with everything and is always there to listen. He’s expected to continue playing this vital supportive role in Season 4, remaining her closest advisor.

Lady Whistledown

Interestingly, the voice of Lady Whistledown was provided by the iconic Julie Andrews in both Queen Charlotte and Bridgerton. However, because Bridgerton revealed Lady Whistledown to be Penelope Featherington, the character couldn’t have physically appeared in Queen Charlotte, which is set before Penelope’s birth.

Even though we now know who Lady Whistledown is, she’ll continue to narrate the story in Season 4 of Bridgerton, and Julie Andrews will once again provide the voice for her.
