Oh, you simply HAVE to hear! Everyone’s buzzing about the upcoming season, and honestly, I’m practically vibrating with excitement! It seems one of the Bridgerton siblings is about to find love… but with someone no one saw coming! I’ve been tracking every rumor, and let me tell you, it’s going to be scandalous! I just know it!
Following the loss of her husband, John Stirling (Victor Alli), in season four, Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) might be open to finding love again in the next season of the Netflix series.
Two years after the death of her husband, John, Fran decides to start dating again, mainly because she feels it’s the sensible thing to do. Netflix announced on March 24th that the show is currently being filmed. However, things get complicated when John’s cousin, Michaela, comes back to London to manage the family estate, leaving Fran unsure if she should follow her head or her heart.
The fifth season of Bridgerton will be based on When He Was Wicked, the sixth book in Julia Quinn’s popular series.
While Francesca begins a new romance with Michaela, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) seems to be happily settling into married life with Sophie Gun (Yerin Ha) after their wedding at the end of the previous season.
For Luke, exploring the second-oldest Bridgerton’s love story was like putting on a glass slipper.
I feel very fortunate, especially because I’ve had time to get comfortable with the show Bridgerton and understand its world,” he explained to Vogue in January. “Because of that, I didn’t feel overwhelmed or stressed about being the lead. I was able to learn from watching others who’ve done it before.”
However, it wasn’t as if Benedict felt no pressure at all. After all, his romantic storyline followed successful seasons focusing on Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page), Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) as the main heroes.
What makes Bridgerton so special is its ability to reinvent itself each season,” the actor explained. “Most long-running shows focus on the same characters, but Bridgerton tells a new love story with a different lead every time. This keeps things fresh, and allows both the characters and the actors portraying them to bring something unique to the role. It’s a very personal approach to storytelling.”
He added that Johnny, Regé, and Luke all kindly offered assistance, which was reassuring. However, he was determined to learn through his own experiences and figure things out independently, even if it meant making mistakes along the way.
With Benedict and Sophie starting their married life and Francesca looking for love, here are some other TV shows to enjoy while you wait for the fifth season of Bridgerton.
