Many games draw inspiration from historical China, often featuring eras like the Three Kingdoms or the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. FYQD-Studio’s upcoming game also explores Chinese history, but with a fresh twist: it’s set in 1912 during the birth of the Republic of China.
The developer of Bright Memory: Infinite recently shared the first screenshots from their new third-person action shooter. The team is currently working on the game, with a focus on creating the art and capturing realistic movements. The game is set in a chaotic time where rival gangs are fighting and secrets are spreading throughout the city.
The game’s story and all related elements are entirely fictional and not based on real historical events, according to the developer. The historical period is just a backdrop for the core gameplay, which is a third-person action shooter.
It’s still unclear exactly what this new game will involve, but it seems like it will be more realistic than Bright Memory: Infinite. That game, which came out in 2021 on PC and 2022 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, combined first-person shooting with close-quarters combat and featured imaginative enemies. You can read our review, where we gave it an 8 out of 10, for a more detailed look.
We don’t yet know when this new game will be released, especially since the original Bright Memory took a long time to develop into Infinite. We’ll have to wait and see, so keep an eye out for future updates.
