Brooklyn Beckham Breaks Silence on Rift With David & Victoria Beckham

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is breaking his silence.

Brooklyn Beckham, the oldest child of David and Victoria Beckham, has publicly discussed his strained relationship with his parents, stating he doesn’t foresee a reconciliation in the near future.

In a post on Instagram on January 19th, he stated he doesn’t want to make amends with his family. He explained that he’s asserting his independence and finally prioritizing his own needs.

The 26-year-old claimed his parents have always manipulated how the media portrays his family. He also accused them of meddling in his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, starting before their wedding and continuing ever since.

Brooklyn shared that the night before her wedding, some family members told her Nicola wasn’t truly one of them, emphasizing she wasn’t related by blood. Brooklyn also explained that ever since she began asserting herself against her family, her parents have relentlessly attacked her, both in private and by leaking information to the press.

He explained that his family has repeatedly shown disrespect towards his wife, despite their efforts to build a unified relationship.

Brooklyn has spoken about the emotional toll of his estrangement from his family, including his brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and his sister Harper, 14.

He shared that he struggled with severe anxiety throughout his childhood. However, since becoming independent from his family, he’s experienced a newfound sense of calm. He now wakes up each day feeling thankful for the life he’s built and finally feels peaceful and free from worry.

Brooklyn finished his message by explaining that he and Nicola, age 31, plan to raise their family in their own way.

He and his wife simply want a peaceful, private life and happiness for their future family, free from public attention and interference.

In August 2022, Nicola told Variety that she had initially planned to wear a dress designed by this particular designer and was very excited about it. However, a few months later, the designer informed her that her workshop wasn’t able to create the dress in time, so Nicola had to choose a different one. She clarified that the designer never forbade her from wearing it, and she never expressed a desire not to. This misunderstanding is what sparked the rumors that followed.

Brooklyn shared that she’s realized people will always try to be negative or bring others down. However, she’s happy to report that everyone on the team gets along well.

Speaking to Grazia the following month, Nicola called the Beckhams “great in-laws.”

Victoria, who rarely addresses gossip, finally described the Peltz-Beckham wedding as “beautiful.”

“Seeing my son so happy is incredibly rewarding,” she shared on TODAY that October. “You can’t ask for anything more than that.”

Tom Cruise and all four of Victoria Beckham’s former Spice Girls bandmates attended her lavish 50th birthday party on April 20, 2024, though her daughter-in-law was unable to make it.

Nicola shared on Instagram that she was visiting her grandmother, who sadly passed away less than a month later.

Nicola couldn’t make it to Victoria Beckham’s birthday party, so she shared a sweet message on Instagram: “Happy birthday to my beautiful mother-in-law, Victoria! I’m so sad I can’t be there to celebrate with you and give you a hug. Sending all my love from me and my nanny. I miss you all so much!” She had also wished Victoria a happy birthday on April 17th, posting a photo of them together and writing, “I love you so much and love being your dance partner forever.”

Losing Naunni was incredibly hard for Nicola, and honestly, it really impacted so many people. I saw Brooklyn share such a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, marking a year since Naunni’s passing. Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola publicly acknowledged David’s knighthood in November 2025. They were also missing from the celebration when David’s team, Inter Miami CF, won the MLS Cup in December 2025; only Victoria, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper were there to cheer the win.

He denied the claims on Instagram Stories, stating, “My parents would never unfollow me.” He clarified that his parents, and himself, were actually blocked from seeing each other’s accounts, not unfollowed, and asked people to get the correct information.

Brooklyn Beckham chose to spend Christmas 2025 with his wife Nicola’s family, including her parents Claudia Heffner Peltz and Nelson Peltz, rather than join his own family. His younger brother, Cruz, stayed home with their parents for the holidays.

David recently shared a year-in-review, posting photos with loved ones from 2025. Notably absent from the pictures were his oldest son and Nicola, Brooklyn’s wife, fueling speculation about a family disagreement.

An hour later, David posted old photos of himself with each of his and Victoria’s children, and shared a message of love with a black-and-white picture of Brooklyn, simply writing, “I love you all so much.”
