Build A Rocket Boy France is Reportedly Facing Judicial Liquidation

Following accusations of corporate sabotage and spying after recent layoffs, the Montpellier branch of Build A Rocket Boy is reportedly facing legal proceedings that could lead to its closure, according to a report from French news outlet Origami.

After ending its partnership with IO Interactive, which meant the planned collaboration with the Hitman series was cancelled, more negative news has surfaced for MindEye. This studio, founded by former Rockstar Games executive Leslie Benzies, has been facing a series of difficulties.

Although MindsEye aimed high, it was ultimately a fairly unremarkable game that didn’t receive positive reviews or find a large player base before its disappointing performance last year. The developers, Build A Rocket Boy, have been attempting to revitalize the game, but it’s unclear if these efforts will be successful.

The studio, facing potential layoffs for about 50 developers, may struggle to finish its game, MindEye. Even if the rumors aren’t true, this situation will likely damage the studio’s reputation. We’ll continue to follow the ongoing challenges at Build A Rocket Boy and provide updates as they become available.

Build A Rocket Boy France, the company behind the poorly received game MindsEye, has entered judicial liquidation. This is the French branch of the UK-based group founded by former Rockstar Games developer Leslie Benzies. Approximately 50 people are still employed by BARB France.
