For those who’ve been playing Rockstar games for a long time, Bully is a standout title – a truly memorable game, even though it sparked quite a bit of controversy. Surprisingly, Bully is turning 20 this year! Despite many rumors about a modern remake for current consoles, it still hasn’t been released.
While Bully has been updated with remastered versions and ports for newer consoles, fans on Reddit are strongly requesting a complete remake of Rockstar’s classic open-world game.
Bully Fans Agree On Official Remake
Longtime fans of the game Bully have been eagerly waiting to see if Rockstar Games plans a significant remake, especially with the game’s 20th anniversary approaching in 2026. So far, Rockstar hasn’t announced any plans for a remake or a new Bully game, leaving fans to continue hoping for a surprise announcement.
Many players on Reddit, like SoulsofMist-_-, have been reminiscing about the PlayStation 2 game and expressing a desire for a remake. They remember it fondly, even after years of not playing, and feel it deserves a modern update. While a 20th anniversary remake would be welcomed, it seems unlikely given Rockstar Games is currently focused on releasing Grand Theft Auto 6 in November 2026.
Although Rockstar Games is clearly prioritizing GTA 6 this year, and other projects will likely be delayed until after its launch, many fans are still hoping for a new Bully game – whether it’s a remake or a sequel – even if it doesn’t come out in 2026.
Hard To Believe Bully Turns 20 This Year
Bully originally came out in 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and was a hit with both fans and critics. It was then released on Xbox, PC, and Wii U in 2008 as the Scholarship Edition. A mobile version, the Anniversary Edition, followed in 2016, and the game also became available on PS4 that same year. However, the PS4 version wasn’t the same as the Anniversary Edition and wasn’t a full remake or remaster.
Fans of the game Bully are hoping for a new sequel that updates the experience for today’s world. However, with Rockstar Games focusing on other popular franchises, a sequel seems less and less likely. A remake for current or next-generation consoles would also be great, and might be more realistic, but Rockstar hasn’t announced any plans for a new Bully project.
