The Game Bakers, creators of Furi and Haven, are releasing their new game, Cairn, on January 29th, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game was originally planned for release last month, but was delayed to allow for further refinement. A demo featuring player ghosts was recently released. You can watch the release trailer below.
The game costs $29.99, and a Deluxe Edition is available for $36.99. This edition includes an artfully designed travel guide by artist Mathieu Bablet (known for works like Carbon and Silicon and Silent Jenny), plus three special items belonging to the main character, Aava. The trailer suggests Cairn will be a challenging game where players attempt to climb Mount Kami, a mountain that no one has ever successfully descended.
The game lasts around 15 hours and is especially praised for how realistic it feels. You can climb almost anything, but it requires careful positioning and finding secure handholds. When not climbing, you play as Aava, gathering supplies like food and equipment while battling tough weather conditions. Once you finish the main story, Expedition Mode lets you put your skills to the test and compete against other players.
