Rumors are often unreliable, and this one about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 releasing sooner than expected is probably no different. It’s likely the game will launch as planned.
I didn’t believe the rumors from the start, but I’ve checked with Activision and looked into the claims. Everything indicates that Black Ops 7 is still scheduled to release on November 14th.
While plans are subject to change, significantly delaying the release at this point would be a huge challenge.
So, what is the rumor?
Let’s start at the top with the original rumor.
There’s a rumor that the release date for Black Ops 7 might be moved up by a week. It’s not confirmed, but it would be great if it were true. The potential release date is October 20, 2025.
Even the person who started it wasn’t entirely convinced, but it would be a welcome surprise if it worked out.
I really think it would have been better to keep the beta version of the game available until right before the official release. I’m having a lot more fun with Black Ops 7, and going back to play Black Ops 6 just doesn’t feel as good.
I need that wall jumping in my life ASAP.
As a researcher, I’ve encountered many theories attempting to explain why this might be real. Some point to the timing coinciding with the new Chucky release, while others suggest it’s related to concerns about the upcoming Battlefield 6.
As I mentioned before, I contacted Activision, and their representative just stated they don’t respond to speculation, which is understandable and pretty typical. Basically, they didn’t confirm or deny anything – it’s a classic ‘maybe’ situation.
The Chucky event ends early, because it started ‘early’

People have pointed to the timing of the current Chucky-themed event in Black Ops 6 as something noteworthy.
I really didn’t like it. I finished the event, but I’m not going to subscribe to get the Chucky character skins – they just aren’t good. On the bright side, at least the event isn’t ending sooner than expected.
I didn’t think much of it initially, but it appears this launched earlier than the game indicated. So, it makes sense that it would also finish ahead of schedule, doesn’t it?
As of today, there are 24 days remaining until the event, which falls on November 14th – the same day we anticipate the release of Black Ops 7.
Season 6 continues for another three weeks after that, which is a bit surprising. However, by November 14th, most players will have moved on to Black Ops 7. Activision has already received payment for the current battle pass, so it’s safe to say they won’t schedule a new paid event to run at the same time.
Call me cynical, but it just doesn’t seem likely, does it?
Currently, it looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be released on November 14th, as expected. Don’t forget to save the date! Though, if Activision decided to share a sneak peek of the campaign beforehand, that would be a welcome surprise.
I’m currently working on completing a lot of Calling Card challenges in Black Ops 6, and honestly, I’m not even sure why I started! I could really use some assistance with these.
