A recent update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fixes a problem with disconnections in the new Endgame mode. Now, players won’t lose their rank or progress if they get disconnected while playing in the Avalon world.
Endgame is an open-world game focused on completing missions and earning points to increase your character’s strength. As you get stronger, you’ll be able to choose perks that help you survive in the game’s world, Avalon.
Staying alive is crucial because if you don’t successfully extract from Endgame, you’ll lose all your operator’s progress and gear, forcing you to start from scratch on your next mission. Before the recent update, players experiencing disconnects due to server problems risked losing valuable, high-level equipment needed to tackle the most challenging areas of Endgame.
The newest update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 includes a feature that saves a player’s Combat Rating when a match begins. If a player disconnects during a game in Avalon, any progress they made during that match won’t be saved, but their initial Combat Rating will still be recorded.
The Combat Rating safeguard only works if you disconnect from the game. If you fail to extract or are defeated by enemies, you’ll still lose all your gear and your Combat Rating will reset to zero.
Update notes are now available for the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 patch. This update includes improved disconnect protection during Endgame matches. You can find the full details here: https://t.co/rsL0TdQE7u. The update was released on November 25, 2025.
Endgame mode launched with Black Ops 7 two weeks ago. It’s a final, cooperative campaign mission where 32 players team up to see how the story ends. You need to finish the main campaign first to unlock it.
The campaign in Black Ops 7 received mixed reactions from both reviewers and players, and surprisingly few people finished it. As a result, the game’s endgame content is now available to everyone, even if they haven’t completed the campaign.
In my review of Black Ops 7, I thought the story was a fascinating look at how shared mental illness affects a group of soldiers, but some players felt it strayed too far from what makes the series special.

Xbox data reveals that cooperative play is quite rare in Call of Duty. Only 1.5% of players have finished the first campaign mission with a friend, and a mere 0.56% have completed the entire campaign in co-op.
Neither Activision nor the developers at Treyarch or Raven Software have publicly said that player criticism of the campaign caused them to make Endgame mode easier to access. However, the development team did mention in the patch notes that they were happy with how players were responding to Endgame.
Endgame includes a unique camo progression system and challenges to earn rewards. Your progress in this mode also contributes to your overall game progress.
Additional patch notes

The latest update fixed a major issue in Zombies where players would crash when using the crafting table. While the fix for disconnects in Endgame has gotten a lot of attention, this crafting table bug fix is also important. It now allows players to safely use salvaged materials to create Scorestreaks, Mutant Injections, and other equipment to help their team survive.
We’ve fixed problems with user interface elements overlapping and an issue where the prestige menu would unexpectedly close the Progression Overview screen. These improvements are part of ongoing work towards the big Season 1 update, launching on December 4th.
You can now play Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (through Xbox PC, Steam, and Battle.net). If you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the full game – including the campaign, Endgame, multiplayer, and Zombies – is already included with your subscription.
