The sequel to Call of the Sea, titled Call of the Elder Gods, comes out on May 12th. You’ll be able to play it on Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PlayStation 5, and it will be available with Xbox Game Pass from day one. The new trailer (see below) shows off some of the game’s puzzles and a variety of new environments, including some that are quite surreal.
Drawing inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft’s The Shadow Out of Time, players take on the roles of Professor Harry Everhart and his student, Evangeline Drayton. Years ago, they uncovered a mysterious artifact that has deeply disturbed their sleep. Now, they embark on a journey to find rest and regain their peace of mind.
Similar to the game Call of the Sea, you’ll investigate different locations and solve puzzles – from New England and the Australian outback to strange, timeless cities. You’ll play as both characters throughout the game, and discovering special Occult Books will unlock new, mind-bending challenges.
You can make the game easier by turning on hints and using the helpful icons. What really makes the experience special, though, are the fantastic performances from Yuri Lowenthal and Cissy Jones, who bring the characters of Everhart and Drayton to life. We’ll have more news soon, but you can read our full review of Call of the Sea in the meantime.
