Canyons ‘Gameplay’ teaser trailer – co-op PvE third-person shooter for PS5, PC

HypeTrain Digital and RedRuins Software, the team behind Breathedge, just dropped a new 30-second trailer for their upcoming game, Canyons. It’s a four-player co-op shooter where you and your friends battle the environment, and it’s coming to PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam. They haven’t announced when the game will be released yet.

About

Canyons is a team-based survival game where you and up to three other players explore a randomly generated, post-apocalyptic world. The only safe places are within the canyons themselves. You’ll need to gather weapons and supplies and then venture out on large, mobile bases called Crawlers to survive and conquer the landscape.

Crawlers

Though the great waters are long gone, the legacy of those who came before—and the incredible machines they built—lives on. Take command of a Crawler, a massive vehicle from a bygone era, and explore the deep canyons.

Improve, enhance, and evolve your robotic ally! But don’t hesitate to replace it if you find a more capable one—loyalty isn’t a factor here.

Expeditions

Prepare to enter a harsh and dangerous world filled with storms, extreme heat, terrifying creatures, and ruthless people. And if you look appetizing, all the better! Team up with allies, equip your vehicle, and venture into the canyons to conquer, protect, create, or demolish. Will you chase after incredible treasures, even if it means facing great risk, or will you know when to retreat? The decision is up to you. There are no easy answers or safe routes, but a constantly changing world, rich with detail and unexpected events, will keep you on your toes.

Haven

Even the most courageous warriors eventually need a home. Build and fortify a settlement in the canyon caves, providing everything your people need to thrive. Construct facilities like shipyards for building Crawlers, garages for vehicle maintenance, an armory for weapons, and even a cafeteria! Support traders, doctors, and workers by building the necessary infrastructure. But remember to defend your haven – others will always try to take what you’ve built.

Captain

Hitting your target is useful, but accurate shooting is even more effective. To become a better shooter, you need to develop your captain’s skills. Beyond simply improving core stats, you can choose from many different professions, each of which offers unique benefits and strengthens your character in different ways.

Even when you’re focused on survival – practicing your aim or building strength – don’t lose sight of what’s right and wrong. Life in the canyons is brutal, and you’ll face tough decisions. What will you do when you encounter someone desperate for water? Will you share your supplies, help them reach safety, take advantage of their weakness, abandon them to danger, or resort to the unthinkable? The choice is yours, but be aware that every action has a reaction.

Inhabitants

Even the wildest ideas attract people, and that’s true of the groups inhabiting the canyons. You’ll encounter a strange mix of factions – Lawmen, Marauders, the Diesel Cult, and more – each with their own territory. How they respond to you depends on your choices and how you live. Building relationships can be beneficial: the Lawmen offer top-tier gear, the Diesel Cult provides excellent vehicles and upgrades, and the Sun Fanatics… well, everyone hates them, and they don’t care. They’re quick to violence.

These lands aren’t just home to people. The canyons are filled with strange creatures like Shrivelled ones, Creepers, and Savages – the kind of beings mothers tell stories about to keep children in line.
