Capcom Games Being Made Free for a Limited Time

Two different Capcom games are being offered for free, with the first giveaway taking place on August 6 and the second on August 20. Unfortunately, these free Capcom games will only be available as Steam codes, meaning console users cannot participate. Additionally, those interested in claiming the codes will be competing against each other for a limited number of available codes. The exact extent of this limited supply has not been revealed at this time.

Starting August 6th, the first among the trio of Capcom games will be Ultra Street Fighter IV. This is a 2014 re-release and update of Street Fighter IV. The update brought in new characters, stages, gameplay mechanics, and more. The initial release was Street Fighter IV, which came out in 2008 as the first mainline entry in the Capcom fighting game series since Street Fighter III was launched in 1997. It holds a Metacritic score of 94 and is often regarded as one of the best Street Fighter games, as well as one of the greatest video games across all genres.

To get both games for free, visit the Lenovo website where you’ll find instructions on how to use a free code. On August 20th, the additional free game from Capcom will be Strider.

If you’re unfamiliar, Strider is a hack-and-slash game that was launched in 2014 by Double Helix Games and Capcom. It’s actually a reboot of the 1989 game, initially released as an arcade game. Upon its debut, Strider received mixed reviews, as indicated by its Metacritic score ranging from 70 to 78. The ratings fluctuated depending on the platform it was played on.
