As a long-time Capcom fan, it’s been amazing to see them bring back so many of the characters I grew up with! They’ve really hit a stride lately, especially with Resident Evil. The remakes have been fantastic, and the new games keep the series fresh. Plus, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter are still going strong with exciting new entries that everyone seems to love. It’s just a great time to be a Capcom player!
Capcom isn’t stopping with just one successful revival; they plan to bring more of their classic franchises back into the spotlight. Their latest company report confirms they’re working on new games, ports, remakes, or remasters for their most popular series, with three specific franchises already highlighted as potential candidates. Here’s a breakdown of what the report reveals and what it means for fans of Capcom games.
Capcom’s Annual Report Teases New Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney Releases

So, Capcom’s been knocking it out of the park with the Resident Evil remakes, right? But I was digging through their latest report, and it looks like they’ve got plans for a bunch of other franchises too. They specifically mentioned how well Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter are doing, but then they dropped a hint about expanding into Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. Basically, they’re looking at new games, remakes, or even just getting those titles onto newer consoles. As a fan of all of those, I’m super excited to see what they come up with!
Fans are often happy to see older games updated for new consoles, though it doesn’t necessarily mean completely new games are on the way. We already know the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is coming out in 2026, and the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy brought several Ace Attorney games to Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and GeForce Now in 2024. These could be the games mentioned in the recent annual report. However, a potential revival of Devil May Cry is even more exciting, especially with the recent animated series on Netflix. Plus, there are growing rumors that the original Devil May Cry might get a remake, similar to the successful Resident Evil remakes.
Why All Three Franchises Deserve A Return

Remaking the original Devil May Cry feels like a smart move right now. It’s been a while since a new game in the series came out, and popular action-focused games like Elden Ring could inspire a fresh take on the classic gameplay. With the recent Devil May Cry animated series on Netflix bringing Dante to a wider audience, it’s a good time for Capcom to revisit the character. A remake would also align with the successful, action-packed style of the Resident Evil remakes.
Both Mega Man and Ace Attorney would be great candidates for new installments, especially since their older games have been re-released. A new Ace Attorney game could capitalize on the current popularity of story-focused games like Dispatch and other visual novels, offering even more complex investigations and potentially expanding the series with different playable characters.
Mega Man has seen many updates and new versions over the years, but a fresh take on the classic character could really make him popular again. A sequel or remake with updated graphics, similar to how he looks in the animated series Secret Level on Prime Video, could be a great way to do this. Both Mega Man and other Capcom franchises have been relatively quiet while other games have gained more attention. Although Devil May Cry seems most likely to get a reboot or remake, fans of all three series should stay tuned for potential news.
