In a thrilling turn of events, 20th Century Studios combines forces with the Marvel Universe, setting up an epic clash between xenomorphs and the Shield-wielding icon, Captain America. The merger of Disney and 20th Century Fox has opened up new avenues for Marvel Comics, allowing them to bring franchises like Alien and Predator into their roster. This exciting fusion has led to some exhilarating showdowns, such as Predator vs. Wolverine, Predator vs. Spider-Man, and Aliens vs. Avengers. As we move forward, it’s reasonable to expect that all of Marvel’s major heroes will engage in crossover events against either Aliens or Predators, and this time around, it’s Captain America who steps up for the challenge.
At San Diego Comic-Con’s Retailer Exclusive Panel, Marvel unveiled the exciting limited series titled “Alien vs. Captain America“. This four-issue run will hit stands in November and is written by Frank Tieri with Stefano Raffaele handling the artwork. Leinil Francis Yu has designed the main cover, while Dan Panosian has created a variant cover. The variant cover showcases Captain America’s shield adorned with an Alien, with a larger one lurking behind it, creating quite a menacing sight. Yu’s main cover depicts Captain America engaged in a tense standoff against one of the Aliens.
The narrative seems set during World War II, as Hydra searches for a powerful weapon to overpower the Allies. Red Skull dispatches Baron Strucker on a mission to locate this weapon. Instead of discovering the Inhumans in Atilan, Strucker stumbles upon the ominous presence of xenomorphs. With time running out, Captain America and his team, the Howling Commandos, must thwart both the Red Skull and these extraterrestrial beings before it’s too late.
In World War II, Captain America encounters something unusual while facing off against Hydra. The story goes like this: Baron Strucker, on a mission for the Red Skull, travels to the Himalayas in search of the legendary city of Atilan, home of the Inhumans. However, what he discovers is far from ordinary – something far more lethal and terrifying. Yes, you guessed it – Aliens! Can Captain America and his team, the Howling Commandoes, thwart the Red Skull’s plans to use these extraterrestrial weapons against the Allies? Or will the First Avenger find himself in a battle where even Europe‘s chaos can’t muffle the chilling screams of the unknown? This is the plot for Alien vs. Captain America #1.
The live-action series “Earth: Alien” on FX, set to debut soon, delves deeper into the “Alien” universe. This prequel to the 1979 film “Alien” is generating a lot of excitement ahead of its release, building on the success of “Alien: Romulus.
