Caput Mortum now available for Switch

Black Lantern Collective and WildArts have launched the short, first-person horror game Caput Mortum on Switch for $11.99, according to an announcement from the two companies.

The game Caput Mortum was initially released on PC through Steam on August 27th, and later became available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles on December 3rd.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

Caput Mortum is a brief, terrifying horror game played from a first-person perspective. It takes inspiration from classic 3D dungeon crawlers and survival horror titles. Explore a tower filled with forgotten terrors, where danger lurks around every corner. You’ll need to confront creatures from the afterlife and uncover hidden, dangerous secrets.

Slow Burn Horror

Turn off the lights, put on your headphones, and get lost in the dark and creepy world of the game. Each room hides a new fear, and every corner holds a clue to ancient mysteries. Carefully observe your surroundings, solve challenging puzzles, and discover what happened inside the tower. How far will you go to find out the truth, and what horrifying secrets will you reveal?

Nightmarish Beings

Be careful exploring the tower! It’s full of different monsters that will attack on sight. You can sneak past them, fight them, or find another way to deal with them, but keep an eye on your health. Healing items are limited, so it’s a good idea to conserve them – this game is a classic, after all!

Unique Controls

Experience a classic dungeon crawler feel with controls that emphasize vulnerability. You’ll control movement with one hand and actions like interacting with objects and attacking enemies with the other. Plus, you can customize the controls to fit your playstyle!

  • Controller (Default) – The recommended way of playing Caput Mortum. The controls make you feel vulnerable while remaining fair.
  • Controller (King’s Field) – For nostalgic players! You can control the camera and move your character like in the King’s Field games.
  • Controller (Modern) – For players who want to use a controller with a more familiar control scheme.
  • Keyboard Only – If you don’t own a controller but still want the feeling of vulnerability, this is the option for you! Control the camera and your hand with the arrow keys.
  • Keyboard and Mouse – This is for players wanting a more familiar experience. Control the camera and your hand with the mouse.
