It’s been twenty years since the original Teen Titans series finished airing on Cartoon Network. While the show ended in 2006, the DC heroes have remained popular thanks to Teen Titans Go. Even though the original series concluded long ago, many fans still hope for a resolution to the cliffhanger ending. Interestingly, that ending was actually explored further in a different project outside of the animated shows.
It’s a bit ironic that the comic book series based on the original Teen Titans cartoon was called “Teen Titans Go,” because it’s different from the current show on TV. In the 51st issue, the comic introduced Geo-Force as an enemy for the Titans. He’s a DC hero who never appeared in the cartoon itself. When the team deals with a rock monster who’s looking for someone, they quickly discover it’s actually Geo-Force – and he happens to be Terra’s brother. Raven uses her powers to read Geo-Force’s mind while he’s held captive, finally confirming the true identities of both him and Terra.
Geo-Force is the prince of Markovia, which makes Terra a princess. This backstory, not shown in the animated series, reveals that Terra previously fled her homeland because she couldn’t control her powers. After Geo-Force learns the truth about his sister, Beast Boy brings him to the high school where she’s currently believed to be. There, the team pieces together what they think happened to their former friend after she was released from her stone prison.
The main goal of this episode was simply to move the story forward, not to provide a neat and tidy resolution. Interestingly, Cartoon Network later added backstory through the Teen Titans comics, revealing that Terra was actually a princess.

What Happened to Teen Titans’ Terra?
Following the end of the Teen Titans series, this new comic book offered Beast Boy a chance to share his thoughts on what happened to Terra, as told to him by Starfire. He explained to Geo-Force that Starfire believed Terra’s transformation into stone was similar to a caterpillar entering a cocoon. Starfire theorized that when Terra ‘emerged’ – like a butterfly – she intentionally chose to begin a new life and didn’t want any contact with her former teammates.
While talking, Geoforce and Beast Boy spot someone who looks like Terra at school, but they decide not to approach her. Terra’s brother muses that while change can be positive, it’s sometimes better to let things stay the same. Interestingly, this doesn’t confirm this person is actually the original Terra, as both the animated series and this comic book leave it unclear whether the earth-powered hero has truly returned. Sadly, this question may never be resolved, and it seems there are no plans to revisit the original Teen Titans team.
Fans last saw the classic versions of Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire in the 2019 movie, Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans. With the original voice actors recently returning for a new Cartoon Network show, another team-up isn’t out of the question, though there are no current plans. While the story of Terra remains a long-standing question for Teen Titans fans, this comic book scene offers some much-needed closure.
