Many people consider Fez to be one of the greatest puzzle platformers ever made, so it’s not surprising that several new games are borrowing ideas from its unique perspective-shifting gameplay.
Get ready for Cassette Boy! This game was revealed some time ago, and now we know it will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 starting January 15th, 2026.
In addition to announcing the release date, a free demo is now available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, so you can try the game before the holidays.
Okay, so in Cassette Boy, I get to explore this really cool world from a top-down, pixelated perspective. The thing that’s blowing my mind is that the whole world is built around ideas from quantum physics – it’s seriously trippy and interesting!

This game plays with the idea that ‘out of sight, out of mind’ is reality. You can rotate the world to change your view, and anything hidden from that new angle effectively disappears.
This ability lets you overcome obstacles, avoid enemies, and figure out puzzles. The best way to understand it is to see it in action, so we highly recommend checking out the trailer.
This game looks really interesting, and we’re excited to try it out! Are you planning to play Cassette Boy? Let us know in the comments!
