Here is an overview of the game, via Pocketpair Publishing:

About

“Do you really believe the moon isn’t there when you’re not looking?”

The well-known quote often credited to Einstein challenges the bizarre aspects of quantum mechanics. Taking inspiration from this concept, CASSETTE BOY is a puzzle-action RPG set in a world where objects disappear when not observed.

Journey through a strange and fascinating world, solve its odd puzzles, battle unusual creatures, and even bend reality to discover the hidden truth!

Twist and Rotate the World

CASSETTE BOY initially seems like a straightforward pixel-art game, but it’s surprisingly complex. While it looks like a 2D world, it’s actually built in 3D, and you can change what you see by rotating the environment.

Solving these puzzles requires you to manipulate and look at the map from different angles. Things that are hidden from view are considered nonexistent. You’ll progress by cleverly concealing obstacles or uncovering hidden routes.

This game isn’t just about solving puzzles. You’ll also find weapons and fight monsters, including powerful bosses.

Choose What Exists With the “SchroDinger System”

The state of matter is only defined once you observe it.

In the world of CASSETTE BOY, things only exist as long as you’re looking at them. If something – like a person or an object – disappears from your view, it’s as if it never existed at all.

Ordinary camera movement becomes the key to solving mind-bending puzzles.
