Fervent Disney enthusiasts, who run blogs, websites, and YouTube channels, are increasingly expressing disapproval towards the questionable moves of current Disney Imagineers and park management. The most recent controversy is the plan to demolish Jim Henson’s last masterpiece, MuppetVision 3D. There seems to be no justification for its destruction and every reason to preserve it. However, as Disney intends to build a Monsters Inc. mild indoor coaster somewhere near it instead, they have decided to close the attraction down. This allows them to replace it with a Monsters Inc. movie in the theater, which no one seems to be eagerly anticipating. It’s like tearing down a cherished landmark and replacing it with a contemporary animated short – a modern take on Jim Henson’s grand finale. I can only imagine how this will surpass the brilliance of Jim Henson’s swan song. I can only imagine.
