In fact, no Best Picture contender in the 21st century fit that description before 2009! However, once the number of nominees expanded beyond five, the landscape changed dramatically. Over the last 15 years, numerous Best Picture nominees have only managed to secure one other Oscar nomination.

For instance, this year’s Nickel Boys, while it received recognition in the Best Adapted Screenplay category as well as a Best Picture nod, is not alone among recent Best Picture nominees with a peculiar profile. As you can see from the list below, there have been quite a few oddities in this modern era of filmmaking.

Absolutely, the hack-and-slash action series by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force is back with quite an impact! Pre-release reviews for Origins were overwhelmingly positive, making it the highest-rated Dynasty Warriors game to date. Sophie’s Revival” Volume 1 – This compilation covers the initial 22 installments of the popular webcomic. The story unfolds with the character Sophie’s demise, followed by her unexpected resurrection at the hands of Elijah, also known as the Grim Reaper. Eli, a devoted fan of Sophie, revives her under specific terms. As the narrative unfurls, we find Eli developing feelings for his idol, feeling compelled to safeguard her from potential perils, whether they stem from her own klutzy nature or sinister forces. As Sophie juggles the joys and tribulations of campus life, including new social interactions, blossoming friendships, and even a hint of romance, the enigma remains: who was truly responsible for Sophie Lim’s murder?

For anyone intrigued, the upcoming game is titled Merchant 64, which, as its name implies, draws inspiration from games popular during the N64 (Nintendo 64) era. Interestingly enough, it appears almost identical to a game from that period, but with contemporary enhancements. Specifically, improved lighting techniques are employed.

As a gamer, stepping into a new virtual world is always an adventure where I find myself uttering “Wow, this is unexpected!” It’s not just the vastness of the forest or the towering trees, but the intricate layering of miniature mountains that form overlapping views – something we don’t often encounter in our usual gaming landscapes.
