Though Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Marvel Zombies happened in different universes, Captain America: Brave New World, Daredevil: Born Again, Thunderbolts, Ironheart, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Eyes of Wakanda all took place on the main MCU Earth (designated Earth-616) in 2025. These six projects introduced a lot of exciting new characters to the screen – some were reimaginings of previously disappointing adaptations, and others were appearing on screen for the very first time. This is a positive step for Marvel, suggesting even more fresh faces will be joining the MCU in future installments.

Looking ahead to 2026, it’s clear fantasy is going to dominate the box office – we’ve got Christopher Nolan’s follow-up and a new take on Narnia coming our way. But 2025 hasn’t been a total fantasy drought. While things were a bit quieter this year, there were still some real gems, and I want to highlight six of my favorites.

I just finished Resident Evil 4 and now I’m playing Resident Evil Village on the PSVR2. I started it before, but never got around to finishing, so I’m restarting the game to get ready for the release of Resident Evil Requiem in 2026.

Throughout his appearances in his own movies and the Avengers films, Thor has developed several powers, like the ability to summon the Bifrost whenever he needs it. While that’s definitely helpful, being able to teleport directly would be even more useful, and surprisingly, Thor actually has teleported in one version of the Marvel universe – the Ultimate universe.

A pivotal scene happens in Stranger Things Season 5, Episode 6, “Escape from Camazotz.” It follows Nancy and Jonathan unintentionally triggering a major event that threatens to destroy the Upside Down. This leaves them stranded and facing a dire situation, and although a proposal happens, it’s actually a breakup. Some viewers were puzzled, but co-creator Matt Duffer confirmed to People that it was, definitively, a split.

Now that Season 1 of The Mighty Nein has finished, we’ve ranked all eight episodes from strongest to weakest. A second season is already planned, and it’s likely to be even better – especially since the first season really hit its stride towards the end. The finale sets things up perfectly for a strong Season 2. Be warned: This contains spoilers for all episodes of The Mighty Nein Season 1!

Over the holidays, some viewers noticed that a slightly shorter version of the classic 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life is circulating. This version is missing about 22 minutes of footage, specifically a crucial scene known as the “Pottersville” sequence. In this scene, George Bailey (played by James Stewart) is shown a bleak alternate reality by his guardian angel, Clarence. This scene is vital to George’s transformation and the film’s message, and its absence has upset many fans. However, the reason for the edit isn’t as straightforward as it appears.

While Interview With the Vampire is a fantastic show, it’s not a flawless adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel. It’s less a faithful retelling and more a story inspired by the book. To be honest, despite being great television, it’s a pretty weak adaptation. As a longtime fan of Rice’s work, I’m worried that the changes made in the first two seasons will create problems in the upcoming third season.

The biggest reveal, and the one fans had waited nearly ten years for, was particularly satisfying. While other shows provided answers much sooner, this one finally explained everything from a shocking opening scene to the motivations of the main villain, giving viewers the closure they deserved.
