Octopath Traveler II is a beautiful game with the best combat in the series, and its story immediately grabs your attention. However, some new ideas don’t quite work as well, creating a frustrating mix of stunning visuals and gameplay choices that interrupt the flow, weaken the story, and feel different from what fans love about the original. It shows how trying new things can sometimes unintentionally hurt a game if those changes aren’t a good fit for what makes the series special.

GameStop is planning to have more of the Prismatic Evolutions Pokemon cards available starting December 12th. Several items, including the Mini Tins and Super Premium Collection, are currently listed on their website with that release date. While Pokemon card prices at GameStop are often higher than suggested retail price—usually $10 to $20 more—the Super Premium Collection has recently seen a significant price increase just before the restock.

It’s basically a huge collection of races – like 50 different events spread across 20 categories – that celebrate the history of cars and racing. Each event has a full structure – you’ll practice, qualify, and then race. The best part? You’ll be racing against GT Sophy 3.0 for all your opponents. It’s a really immersive way to experience racing history, and Sophy makes the competition super challenging!

Many of the studios credited in the game likely provided support for larger development teams, but some specialize in specific areas. Red Hot CG, for example, focuses on creating art assets for games. They’ve contributed to several major titles, including Destiny 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Valorant, and Starfield, to name a few.

I’m really into MLB The Show Mobile – it’s free to play, which is awesome! It’s got all the modes you’d expect from a The Show game, but they’ve built stuff specifically for mobile, so it’s super fast-paced and feels really authentic when it comes to the MLB experience. They’ve clearly put a lot of work into making it feel like the real deal.

Robert Eggers’ latest film, The Northman, a violent Viking epic, became available on Netflix on December 3rd. It’s Eggers’ third feature, following The Witch and The Lighthouse, and stars Alexander Skarsgård as Prince Amleth – a character from Norse mythology who served as the basis for Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The film centers on Amleth’s exiled journey to avenge his father’s murder at the hands of his uncle. The movie boasts a strong cast including Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Gustav Lindh, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.

I was surprised to learn that a new Berserk pachinko machine will actually animate the fight against the Sea God! For those unfamiliar, this battle happened in chapters 316-321 of the manga and was a truly terrifying encounter – seriously, the creature felt like something straight out of an H.P. Lovecraft story. It took place during Guts’ years at sea, a significant part of the manga, and it’s never been animated before. Now, thanks to these pachinko machines, we’ll finally get to see this fight unfold using CG animation, and you can check it out! While it’s not exactly the revival many Berserk fans were hoping for, it’s great to see continued interest in the series and Miura’s incredible work.
