Game Freak, the studio behind Pokémon, is working on a new project that could be a turning point for them. While they’re famous for Pokémon, their other games, like Little Town Hero and Giga Wrecker, haven’t been hugely successful. However, there’s growing excitement about their upcoming RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, even though we haven’t seen much about it since its initial announcement. This game could be Game Freak’s most important release outside of the Pokémon series, and how well it does could significantly influence the future of Pokémon games themselves.

We’re referring to 1982. It is the gold standard for sci-fi cinema. Let’s unpack why.

Even though it’s been uncertain, the DC Universe is still hinting at Batman’s arrival. While Batman briefly appeared in last year’s animated series, Creature Commandos, it’s unknown how much of that story will connect to future films. Superman also included a small tease about Batman and Gotham City’s role in the DCU. Now, James Gunn has shared some details on social media about how Batman will fit into the DCU, and what’s most important for the character’s future.

In 2025, Blue Prince emerged as a truly special game—creative, captivating, and remarkably memorable, earning praise from both critics and players. Despite excellent reviews and a dedicated following, it was surprisingly overlooked at the year’s major awards. While many big games came out that year, Blue Prince didn’t receive the recognition it deserved, and some believe it’s a true all-time great.

While the original game was well-received, it didn’t perform as well commercially as Ubisoft had hoped, leading to a long pause in the series. Rumors surfaced in the late 2010s about a new Splinter Cell game being in development, but it was reportedly cancelled and resources shifted to XDefiant. However, the producer of XDefiant claims it wasn’t a replacement for a cancelled Splinter Cell project. Despite this, fans continued to ask for a revival, and Ubisoft announced a Splinter Cell remake back in 2021. Unfortunately, there haven’t been many updates about the remake since then.

Despite being called Black Souls 2, this is actually the third game in the series. Red Hood’s Woods came before the original Black Souls. This sequel expands on the dark fantasy world of Black Souls with a lot more to explore. It features 11 different endings, but unlike the first game, you can’t get all of them in a single playthrough – you’ll need to play through the game multiple times to see everything.

This year, most new manga releases haven’t resonated strongly with fans, with the exception of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. However, Modulo, a continuation of the original Jujutsu Kaisen created by Gege Akutami and illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, is planned to be a brief series, ending around spring of next year with only three volumes. Looking at newer manga from the past two years in Weekly Shonen Jump, none have achieved the same level of popularity as Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch. In fact, Weekly Shonen Jump is planning to feature both of these series prominently when the first issue of 2026 is released.

If you’ve been enjoying Star Trek: Bridge Crew through PlayStation Plus, you’ll want to know it’s leaving the service soon. Sony announced that Bridge Crew, along with other games, will no longer be available on PS Plus starting December 2nd. Since Sony updates its PS Plus games on the first Tuesday of each month, you only have a limited time left to play Bridge Crew.

Despite recent cancellations, Netflix is still actively searching for a successful fantasy series. Last year, they spent a significant amount of money – over a million dollars – to acquire the rights to the popular romantic fantasy novel, Quicksilver. They also have a movie planned for release in 2026 that they hope will be a breakthrough in the fantasy genre. While the story won’t resemble Game of Thrones, that difference might actually be a good thing.
