As a huge sci-fi fan, I’m seriously excited about some of the games coming out soon – they really could be something special. It’s not just about flashy graphics, either. These games seem like they want to make you think, get you lost in amazing worlds, and recapture that feeling you had as a kid, staring up at the night sky and imagining what’s beyond. I think three games, in particular, have the potential to be the next big thing in sci-fi gaming.

However, a few potential MCU couples never got the chance to become a reality. Here are five romantic pairings that fans would have loved to see, but probably won’t happen now.

Alan Ritchson teamed up with Prime Video again for the action comedy Playdate, starring alongside Kevin James. The movie centers on two dads, Brian (James) and Jeff (Ritchson), who arrange a playdate for their sons. However, things quickly escalate when mercenaries show up and target Jeff, unexpectedly pulling Brian into a dangerous situation. Currently, Playdate has a low Rotten Tomatoes score of 23% based on 13 reviews, though audiences give it a slightly better, but still negative, score of 54%. This makes it one of Ritchson’s worst-rated films on the site, only slightly better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (20%) and Steam (0%), and represents a potential stumble in his efforts to establish himself as a leading movie star.

During a PlayStation presentation in September 2025, Sony revealed that SoulCalibur 3 is coming to both PS5 and PS4. Initially, Sony only said the game would be released sometime before the end of 2025. However, a recent announcement confirms that SoulCalibur 3 will definitely launch in December.
