As a critic, I’ve been following these lesser-known teams operating in the shadow of the main Avengers for a while now, and let me tell you, they’re constantly battling threats across the galaxy and on Earth, quietly saving lives. They don’t always get the recognition they deserve, but they’re a vital part of keeping us safe.
We just learned about this week’s new additions, and there’s a slight issue with them. The selection includes three titles, but we’re running into a problem right away.

Alastor, known as a complex friend and foe to the main characters, has quickly become a fan favorite within the show’s universe, known as the Hellaverse. The movie Premonition, with Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon, isn’t considered a particularly good film. It borrows ideas from movies like The Sixth Sense and Groundhog Day, with a touch of Memento, to tell the story of Linda (Bullock) who starts experiencing events surrounding her husband Jim’s (McMahon) death in a jumbled order. Knowing what’s going to happen, she tries to prevent his death and uncovers secrets about his life. Film critic Tim Bragen perfectly described the film’s biggest flaw: it lacks any real purpose or meaning, even beyond simply being a poorly made movie.
I’ve been a huge fan of the Scream franchise for years, and it was so exciting to see it really come back strong with Scream VI in 2023 – it did even better than expected! It was a shame to hear about the issues with Neve Campbell not returning, but the new cast really stepped up and proved the series could continue without her. Of course, they immediately started working on Scream 7, but it’s been a bumpy ride. There’s been so much trouble behind the scenes, they’ve had to completely change the creative direction and even put the new actors they were building up on the sidelines. Now, the first trailer for Scream 7 is making me worry that even more of the characters we’ve gotten to know in this new generation might be killed off unexpectedly.
Megan Thee Stallion is known for her incredible Halloween costumes, and this year she didn’t disappoint! She shared a fantastic cosplay of Choso from Jujutsu Kaisen and also transformed into Drolta from Castlevania, complete with impressive horns and wings. Three classic Dokapon games are being re-released together in a single collection. These include Dokapon 3-2-1: Arashi o Yobu Yuujou, Kessen! Dokapon Oukoku IV: Densetsu no Yuusha Tachi, and Dokapon Gaiden: Honoo no Audition. All three games originally came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) – the first in 1994, the second in 1993, and the last in 1995.
As a huge Marvel fan, I have to say Ryan North taking over Fantastic Four in 2022 was a stroke of genius! It’s easily become Marvel’s best team book right now – though I’ll always have a soft spot for Gail Simone’s Uncanny X-Men, things haven’t been great for the X-Men lately. What I really love is how the Fantastic Four have quietly become the backbone of the entire Marvel Universe, and they’re even leading the charge in the latest big event, One World Under Doom. Honestly, the success of this book is exactly what Marvel needs, and I think the whole company could really benefit from paying attention to what’s working so well with the Fantastic Four.
Starting November 1st, you can watch all three Back to the Future movies on Netflix. Created by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, the films follow high school student Marty McFly and the quirky scientist Doc Brown as they travel through time in a DeLorean, visiting different eras of Hill Valley, California. With the 40th anniversary of the first film – starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd – coming up in 2025, it’s a perfect time for Netflix to offer the complete trilogy.
