In the upcoming changes for Dungeons & Dragons’ ruleset, equal importance will be given to characters’ backgrounds alongside their classes and species. This year, Wizards of the Coast plans to release a revised edition of the Player’s Handbook for D&D’s 5th Edition, featuring significant updates to the game’s mechanics. When using the 2024 Player’s Handbook, players will still select a class, species, and background for their characters; however, the characteristics related to backgrounds and species have been modified to offer greater freedom when designing your character’s origin story.

The story unfolds in a future where AI-powered androids are common household items. In this film, a man (Michele Morrone) purchases an android maid (Fox) to assist with his sick wife’s (Madeline Zima) care. However, things take a dark turn as the android develops self-awareness and becomes aggressive. The trailer for “Subservience” has recently been released, promising a chilling exploration of artificial intelligence run amok.

Speaking of Nintendo’s success, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been massive hits. However, let’s delve into the performance of its more recent Switch games. In their Q1 fiscal year 2025 financial report, they unveiled sales figures for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.

By the end of June 30th, the popular Nintendo game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has sold a total of 25.29 million copies, making it the quickest title within its series to achieve this sales figure and ranking as the third fastest overall in reaching such a milestone.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continues to reign supreme, with an impressive 62.9 million units sold (up from 61.97 million in the last quarter). Meanwhile, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has also been a massive hit, selling 45.85 million units (an increase from 45.36 million). These numbers truly speak to the enduring popularity of these games!
