In 2022, I found myself utterly captivated when “Bocchi The Rock” made its grand entrance onto our screens, produced by CloverWorks. Most recently, this franchise has reached unprecedented heights with the release of two compilation films in Japan. Although these movies didn’t offer fresh content for the first season, they undeniably helped to amplify the buzz about this rocking series that’s made a significant impact in the anime world. This year at Anime Expo, ComicBook and I were privileged to sit down with the director of the show and Hitori Gotoh, the voice behind Bocchi, to discuss the viral memes sweeping across the globe as a result of this incredible anime phenomenon.

The Amazon Prime Video release of the “Road House” remake featuring Jake Gyllenhaal this year turned out to be a major success for the streaming service, promptly leading to the greenlighting of a sequel by Amazon MGM Studios. Gyllenhaal is expected to reprise his role as ex-UFC fighter Elwood Dalton, but it’s undecided if Doug Liman will return as director. Given Liman’s outspoken criticism of the film’s distribution and skipping its premiere in protest, it’s understandable that he hasn’t been eager to sign on for the sequel. Recently, Liman has voiced his concerns about not receiving adequate compensation for the movie’s streaming success.

Although James Gunn has completed filming for his latest Superman movie, he doesn’t have much time to rest. On a recent post on Threads, a fan asked if he would be taking a break after wrapping up Superman or starting another project immediately. In response, Gunn revealed that there is still a lot of post-production work left for the Superman film and he will continue working on it while also shooting the second season of Peacemaker.

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled about the release of “Batman: The Animates Crusader” on Prime Video, introducing an intriguing take on the DC Universe. This series doesn’t just focus on Bruce Wayne/Batman (Hamish Linklater), but also sheds light on characters from the expansive DC mythos – even an unanticipated superhero!

As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the intricate worlds and captivating stories of Bungie’s games, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent news of mass layoffs at the studio behind Destiny. With a background in game development and a passion for these games, it’s hard not to feel a personal connection to the talented individuals who have been affected by this unfortunate turn of events.

Today, Player First Games unveiled update 1.2.1 for the popular game, MultiVersus. This update arrives during Season 2, where fresh content has been consistently added since its relaunch in May. Among the latest additions are characters such as Jason, Joker, Agent Smith, and Samurai Jack, all of whom have joined the game’s roster recently. Today’s update doesn’t introduce any new fighters, but it does enhance the performance of the existing ones.
