Mario Creator Says “Nintendo Would Rather Go in a Different Direction” When it Comes to AI

Over the past couple of years, AI has been all the buzz among tech companies, but as Microsoft, Google, and Square Enix hop on this fast-moving train, it seems Nintendo is taking a different route. In an interview with The New York Times, Nintendo’s creative guru Shigeru Miyamoto hinted that they prefer to stay off the AI bandwagon. Just like Mario and Zelda, Nintendo prefers to blaze their own trail in technology, rather than follow the latest trends. So, fellow gamers, don’t hold your breath for AI integration in Nintendo’s gameplay anytime soon.
