With both *Strange New Worlds* and the new podcast *Star Trek: Khan*, the story of Khan is continuing nearly 60 years after he first appeared. These projects are adding surprising new layers to his backstory, though they do involve some changes to established history. They connect him to 21st-century Earth in a new timeline and portray him as a more complicated and sympathetic character. This shows that even in 2025, Khan’s story is still evolving, and there’s plenty of room for fresh takes on this iconic villain after all these years.

At today’s New York Comic Con, Warner Bros. Animation revealed exciting news for DC fans: a new animated event based on the classic *Batman: Knightfall* storyline is in the works! The first of two planned movies is already in production and expected to be released next year. Jeff Wamester is directing, and Jeremy Adams is writing. This announcement is a dream come true for fans who have been waiting years to see this story adapted into animation.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has sometimes struggled to live up to expectations, whether with characters that didn’t quite hit the mark or stories that didn’t capture the magic of the original Marvel comics. Here’s a look at some instances where the MCU fell short of what fans were hoping for.

Walmart started things off at Collector Con with a special Ghost Viper & D.I.R.E. 2-pack that sold out fast. Luckily, they’re releasing another batch on October 14th at 1 PM Eastern Time. They also showed off an Arctic Assault H.I.S.S. vehicle, but details about when it will be available and how much it will cost haven’t been announced yet.

The new film, *Tron: Ares*, continues the story established in previous films. Following the events of *Tron: Legacy*, Sam Flynn and the program Quorra vanish. Now, the Kim sisters are running ENCOM, but only Eve Kim rises to the top, surpassing the Flynn family’s long-time competitor, Dillinger Systems, led by Julian Dillinger. Julian has discovered a way to bring digital creations into the real world using a special laser, creating everything from food to weapons. He’s developed a powerful new AI program called Ares, along with his second-in-command, Athena, and uses them in constant battle simulations to win a massive military contract. However, his plans change when Eve Kim cracks the code to make these digital creations permanent, a breakthrough originally hidden by Kevin Flynn.

IDW Publishing and Gallstone Media announced at New York Comic Con that Panda Khan, a brave warrior, will unexpectedly find himself on Earth. Fans can first see Panda Khan in action in *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Saturday Morning Adventures* #37, and you can find a preview of the covers below.

I was really excited when this series first came out! The artwork was amazing, and the story had so much promise. But honestly, it felt like things got rushed towards the end, and it didn’t quite deliver on that initial potential. Sadly, the creator, Moriya, has been dealing with some health issues, which led to an unexpected break back in September. It’s a shame, because Moriya also created *Soloist in a Cage* back in 2018 – it was fantastic and got a lot of love! But that one also had to go on hiatus due to health problems and ended up finishing rather abruptly. Both series are available on Manga Plus, and even with the issues, I’d still recommend checking them out – the art is beautiful and the stories are really unique.

A new line of highly detailed action figures, *Images Comics Founders – Elite Edition Action Figures*, is coming soon, starting with Spawn and other beloved characters from Image Comics. The Spawn figure will be fully poseable and include a signed card from Todd MacFarlane, plus extra accessories and interchangeable parts. Pre-orders for Spawn will open by the end of 2025, and the remaining figures will be released throughout 2026.

While some movies in this genre deliver shocking twists that truly impress, others fall flat. Many build suspense and keep you hooked, only to have the big reveal feel disappointing and anticlimactic—like a letdown at a birthday party. It’s frustrating because some of these films could be considered classics if they hadn’t relied on a predictable or poorly executed surprise. Be warned: the following discussion contains spoilers.

Peacock started the weekend strong on Friday by adding the live-action *How to Train Your Dragon* movie to its streaming library. Because it’s been one of the year’s biggest hits so far, this should bring a lot of viewers to Peacock this weekend.
