DC Comics didn’t limit its collaboration with Hanna-Barbera to just limited series and ongoing comic books. Throughout 2017 and 2018, they also released 12 special one-shot issues that combined DC superheroes like Nightwing, the Flash, and even Deathstroke with beloved classic cartoon characters such as Hong Kong Phooey, Speed Buggy, and Top Cat. As the 10th anniversary of the Hanna-Barbera partnership nears, it’s a perfect time to revisit some of the most surprising, humorous, and enjoyable team-ups this unique project created. There’s a lot of excellent fantasy TV out there, and epic fantasy specifically has some real standouts. Here are seven series that consistently delivered great entertainment from beginning to end. Concept designer Phil Saunders shared on Instagram that one of his earliest tasks for TRON: Legacy was a drawing of Cillian Murphy as the new Sark. Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s production company, JuVee Productions, is adapting the Afro-fantasy graphic novel The Untamed: A Sinner’s Prayer into a film, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The comic, a revenge thriller created by Sebastian A. Jones, was self-published. Jones, who has been creating comics in this universe for a decade through his company Stranger Comics, will also write the screenplay and direct the movie.

Over the years, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have gone through several different versions on screen. There have been the original live-action trilogy, one animated reboot, another pair of live-action films, and most recently, the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. So, we were chatting about how Scream 7 seems to be leaning into more personal stories, and it got me thinking. I asked Chris if he ever thought we might get a Hackers sequel, especially with everything going on in the world today. Turns out, Iain Softley – the original director – actually has a script! Chris and he were just talking about it, and they both feel like now would be the perfect time to revisit that world. He wasn’t sure about getting Angelina Jolie and Johnny Lee Miller back, but he definitely said he’s ready and willing to hack the planet again, which, as a fan, is all I needed to hear!

Tony Gilroy revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he faced restrictions on discussing key themes while promoting Star Wars: Andor. The show, available on Disney+, centered on a rebellion against fascism – a core element of the original Star Wars trilogy, where the Emperor represented oppressive authority and Darth Vader enforced it. Despite this central theme, Gilroy wasn’t permitted to openly discuss the series’ anti-fascist message.

A PlayStation 5 version of the classic 1997 adventure game, Riven, appears to be on the way. While not officially announced, Trophy data for the game has recently appeared on the PlayStation Network, suggesting a release is coming soon. Typically, game Trophies aren’t added to PSN until just before launch, making this discovery a likely leak.
