Globally, it’s estimated to launch around $80 million. The domestic earnings projection suggests that “Last Rites” could surpass the opening weekends of previous mainline “Conjuring” films in the U.S., as “The Conjuring” started with $41.8 million and “The Conjuring 2” debuted with $40.4 million. The U.S. premiere record for the franchise was set by spinoff film “The Nun,” which grossed $53.8 million on its opening weekend.
