While discussing his new show, The Gray House, with ScreenRant, creator David Grief explained why World War 3 was cancelled after years in development. He said the project became too scary to continue because the storyline started mirroring real-world events too closely. FX, the network producing the show, also felt the subject matter was too sensitive and potentially upsetting for viewers, believing the script’s ideas were frighteningly realistic and believable.

The main issue is a recent social media post from the official 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple X account. It included a brief teaser and the message: “Cancel your plans. Grab your snacks. Gather at The Bone Temple.
