The series appears to be continuing along the lines of the original, but instead of making Nova an extroverted jock like Buffy was initially, Nova will be a shy high school student who develops feelings for Carson, a popular athlete played by Kingston Vernes. He’s described as a Junior Olympian and well-liked student at New Sunnydale Academy who takes notice of Nova following a significant event in her life.
