To enrich this historical narrative, Harris shared an idea from “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler that was woven into the show: a maritime people group, inspired by real-world Bronze Age pirates who traversed the Mediterranean. This concept provided a blank slate for creating a world based on loosely defined yet dramatic circumstances.

In my opinion, Sakamoto Days stands out among contemporary manga, particularly due to its rare absence of supernatural elements. Apart from Shin’s unique mind-reading talent, the characters and action sequences are remarkably grounded in reality. This realism gives the series an authentic feel that makes the occasional foray into exaggerated or fantastical elements, like the viral “Tunnel Effect,” all the more jarring.

However, despite these brief departures from the norm, Sakamoto Days has made a significant impact with its unwavering quality and originality. It’s worth noting that it’s had a longer run than Demon Slayer, if you compare them. This series has left an indelible mark on readers due to its consistency and uniqueness. As a result, the bar has been set quite high for any future series that might follow in its footsteps. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

While Bofurin don green jackets in the movie, the Shishitoren prefer yellow attire. Choji heads the Shishitoren with his cheerful demeanor, and Jo stands as his right-hand man. Kotoha takes on a protective role for the protagonists and other Furin High School students. She is one of the leading female characters in the series, maintaining significant relationships with many key figures. The live-action trailers mirror scenes straight from the manga and anime, preserving the show’s distinct color-coded themes and atmosphere.

Robert Kirkman, known for his works such as “Invincible,” “The Walking Dead,” and even “TRANSFORMERS,” revealed at his “Robert Kirkman LIVE at SDCC” event in San Diego Comic-Con that the previously unavailable comic book series, “Capes,” set within Skybound’s Invincible Universe, will be reissued. Originally co-created by Kirkman and artist Mark Englert (famous for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Hack Slash”), the series will first resurface as a special remastered edition featuring fresh artwork and dialogue from the original creative duo.
