From February 16th to 22nd, Wrath of the Titans ranked as the ninth most popular movie on Netflix worldwide. It was viewed 2.8 million times and watched for a total of 4.6 million hours, just ahead of Rumble. This marked the second week the film appeared in Netflix’s top 10.
Starring Melissa Roxburgh, Nick Weschler, and Patrick Subongui, The Hunting Party begins after an explosion destroys a hidden prison in Wyoming. This prison held the country’s most dangerous serial killers, who are now all on the loose. Former FBI profiler Bex (Roxburgh) is brought back into service, teaming up with soldiers, spies, and agents, to hunt down these criminals and stop them before they strike again. While the show requires some acceptance of unbelievable events, it delivers a tense, intriguing story with complex, realistically flawed characters.
This week’s list of the most popular movies on Netflix has a couple of surprises: both The Addams Family and The Addams Family 2 made the Top 10! The Addams Family landed at number four with 5.3 million views, closely followed by The Addams Family 2 at number five with 5.2 million views. Premiering in 1991, The Pirates of Dark Water was a popular and distinctive Saturday morning cartoon. The show centers on Ren, who gathers a crew of misfits to stop a spreading “dark water”—a dangerous black liquid threatening to consume the world. To halt its advance, Ren must find the “Thirteen Treasures of Rule” while battling both supernatural enemies and the pirate captain Bloth. Although the series ran for two seasons, the story was ultimately left unfinished, and Ren’s quest never reached a true conclusion. Despite this, The Pirates of Dark Water remains a celebrated show, even thirty-five years later.
The animated series based on Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier was initially planned for release in 2025, but production delays pushed it back. Now, it’s set to premiere in Japan this April! I’m so excited to hear that The Cutting Edge, written by the same person behind Andor, is coming to Tubi! If you enjoyed Heated Rivalry and love figure skating, you absolutely have to check it out.
