This year’s *Treehouse of Horror* – the thirty-third installment of *The Simpsons*’ Halloween specials – continues the tradition of clever parodies. Season 34’s episode playfully reimagined both *The Babadook* and elements of *The Simpsons* itself. However, the highlight was a full-length take on *Death Note*. This segment was particularly impressive, featuring animation styled after the original *Death Note* anime and even involving some of the same studio that worked on the beloved series years ago. It was a truly fantastic and creative piece.

Just a heads-up: the Assassin’s Creed series, along with Far Cry and Rainbow Six, is now being developed by a new team called Vantage Studios. This team is built from existing groups within Ubisoft.

Frank Grillo joined the DC Universe in 2024 by voicing Rick Flag Sr. in the animated series *Creature Commandos*. As the father of the late Rick Flag Jr. (from *The Suicide Squad*), the older Rick Flag led Task Force M in *Creature Commandos* and later became the new director of ARGUS in *Superman* (July 2025). Grillo continued in the role for season 2 of *Peacemaker*, but the character’s story arc was uneven, and a shift in his personality has left some viewers puzzled.

Born on March 18, 1947, in Oregon City, Oregon, Drew Struzan always had a passion for art, which led him to study at the ArtCenter College of Design in California. Before becoming well-known for his movie poster work, he designed album covers for popular artists like the Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, and Black Sabbath. In the 1970s, he started a company called Pencil Pushers and began creating movie posters. His talent caught the attention of Charles White III, who then hired Struzan to create a poster for the re-release of the original Star Wars film.

One of the things that made *Adventure Time* special was its ability to shift between different styles, which allowed it to create truly frightening episodes. When the show aimed for horror, it intentionally moved away from its usual jokes and storytelling to fully commit to the tropes of the genre, delivering everything from spooky ghost stories to intensely suspenseful psychological thrillers. These scary episodes really showcased the creativity of the show’s team, demonstrating that the colorful world of Ooo could be just as effective at creating genuine fear as it was at providing laughs.

The first episode of *One-Punch Man* Season 3 is now available, and viewers are eager to see what the rest of the season holds. The premiere focused on the heroes’ preparations for upcoming battles against the Monster Association, with the new opening hinting at major fights to come, including the showdown between Saitama and the Monster King Orochi.

Pokémon Go recently announced a major update to its leveling system, which will launch on October 15th. Niantic, the game’s developer, shared details about the new level cap, how player levels will be adjusted, and new rewards. They also introduced Daily Adventure Eggs. However, recent discoveries from data mining have revealed how much experience will be needed to level up, and players aren’t very happy about it.

Fans can now experience the original seven films in stunning 4K with a newly released box set. To celebrate, ComicBook recently spoke with three people involved in making the series: Rachel Talalay, who produced *Nightmares 3 & 4* and directed *Freddy’s Dead*; Jack Sholder, director of *A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge*; and Robert Englund, the actor who famously played Freddy Krueger. After forty years, they all had plenty to share about the iconic nightmare franchise.

Alicia Silverstone stars in Netflix’s new Christmas romantic comedy, *A Merry Little Ex-Mas*, which premieres November 12th.
