Released in 1990 for the Super Nintendo, Bill Laimbeer’s Combat Basketball was the first basketball game on the system. The game is set in a futuristic 2031 where Bill Laimbeer runs the league, having fired all the referees and established a completely rules-free, weapon-filled basketball experience. It’s a uniquely violent sports game, a far cry from most titles of its time. Unfortunately, the game was widely criticized for its poor quality, with issues in its sound, graphics, and controls.

Capcom has been re-releasing many of its older games for current consoles, often by bundling classic titles together in collections. The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a good example, bringing arcade fighting games to platforms beyond older home consoles. Despite this, a lot of other classic Capcom games are hard to find and haven’t been properly updated or re-released – they deserve more than just new sequels.

On April 7th, PlayStation Plus is adding three new games: Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream. Lords of the Fallen is highlighted as the main addition, coinciding with a significant update for the game. All three titles are available on PS5, and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered can also be played on PS4. These games will be available through PS Plus until May 4th, when they’ll be swapped out for a new selection of PlayStation games.

Haste first launched for PC via Steam on April 1, 2025.

The game Content Warning initially became available on PC through Steam on April 1st, 2024, as a free download for one day. Despite being free for a limited time, it still sold over 2.2 million copies, and now has over 8.8 million players.

Tiel is a nimble and evasive character, excelling at quick movements. Eredrim is a powerful, heavily-built fighter who uses massive weapons and a devastating shoulder bash to stun, damage, and break enemy defenses. Proxima is unique, using a hook to pull opponents or quickly reposition herself, then striking with lightning. Just like the previous game, taking too much damage will separate you from your protective Shell until it recharges.

When asked about the unfinished story arc that began with Gears of War 4, McIntyre expressed hope that the developers would revisit it. He said he cares about the team and wants them to create a Gears game that truly captures what fans love about the series. He’d be thrilled if that meant continuing the original trilogy, calling it ‘happy days’.
