Jerry Bruckheimer, a prominent figure in film production, has been instrumental in the creation of F1, following his successful collaboration on Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise, as well as movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys, National Treasure, and Beverly Hills Cop. In an interview with Deadline, Bruckheimer discussed why Brad Pitt agreed to be part of F1, given that the actor is above 60 and may not wish to scale mountains. As he explained:

The movie revolves around two conspiracy-minded youths who abduct the influential head of a significant corporation. They believe her to be an extraterrestrial planning to annihilate our planet.
