While a scene after the credits of the first season hinted at his return, Marvel Studios has now clarified that won’t happen in Born Again itself. Instead, Sana Amanat, an executive producer on Born Again, told Empire magazine that the post-credits scene actually sets up a separate special featuring Bernthal’s Punisher.
