Although most of the Oscar nominations were expected, the Academy Awards always include a few surprises. This year’s nominations are no different – some highly anticipated films were left out entirely, while others exceeded expectations with unexpected nominations. A few films didn’t perform as well as predicted, resulting in notable snubs.

I consider Smokin’ Aces to be one of the greatest action movies of the 21st century. It’s an incredibly exciting, over-the-top, and unforgettable film. If you haven’t seen this 2007 thriller in a while, or ever, I highly recommend giving it a watch.

This morning, Renate Reinsve (leading actress), Stellan Skarsgård (supporting actor), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Elle Fanning (supporting actress) all received Oscar nominations for Sentimental Value. This news wasn’t unexpected, as all four actors were strongly considered potential nominees. The film had been generating significant buzz until the Actor Awards nominations were revealed a few weeks ago.

Before the start of Chicago Fire season 14, it was revealed that Firehouse 51 would lose two regular firefighters, even though the end of season 13 didn’t hint at anyone leaving. Prince Adam’s connection to Earth has always been through his mother, but the new Masters of the Universe movie expands on that story. It begins with Adam crashing onto Earth as a child and losing his Power Sword. Fifteen years later, he reclaims the sword and returns to Eternia, only to find it under the cruel rule of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. Alongside allies like Teela (Camila Mendes) and Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), Adam must fight to free his home and fulfill his fate as He-Man.

Travis Knight directs the new movie, Masters of the Universe, which is based on the popular 1980s franchise. The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and Jared Leto as Skeletor. Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios will release it in US cinemas this June.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Christina Hodson will be writing the next Batman movie for DC Studios. This is a significant choice, as Batman is DC’s most valuable asset and essential for building a thriving shared universe. He’s not just another superhero – he’s the key to DC’s future.

The nominations for the 98th Academy Awards will be announced on Thursday, starting at 5:30 a.m. Pacific Time / 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Actress Danielle Brooks, known for her role in Peacemaker, and Lewis Pullman from Thunderbolts will reveal the nominees. The second episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy revealed the existence of the War College, a sister school to Starfleet Academy. However, these aren’t friendly competitors; the War College cadets, dressed in black, are constantly trying to outdo Starfleet Academy.
