At a recent New York Comic Con event for Bad Idea Comics, it was revealed that the actor known for playing The Penguin will be the main character in an upcoming action thriller. The story centers on a Catholic priest – who also happens to be a former Navy SEAL – as he becomes a target for the Irish mafia.

Directed by Alan Berry and Mark Enochs, the documentary provides multiple perspectives on the incident. The movie emphasizes its true story roots, advertising itself as a “revolution that was televised.” It stars Bill Skarsgård as a man who believes the American financial system disadvantages people like him, and who resorts to kidnapping his bank’s mortgager to make a point. Dead Man’s Wire first screened at the Venice International Film Festival and will have a limited release on January 9, 2026, followed by a wider release on January 16.

As a huge fan of Chainsaw Man, I’m really excited about the Reze Arc! It picks up right after the first season, and it introduces this fascinating new character, Reze. At first, Denji thinks she might actually like him, which is a nice change of pace! But it quickly becomes clear that there’s a lot more going on with Reze, and her interest in him isn’t exactly what it seems. There are definitely some dark secrets at play.
Ash never meets his clients in person. Instead, he uses ‘Relay,’ a phone system designed for people with hearing impairments. Relay employees read aloud typed messages, allowing conversation while maintaining strict confidentiality under state secrecy laws. Unlike typical modern thrillers, there are no fancy gadgets; Ash works with what appears to be an early electronic typewriter connected to a mobile phone, further concealing his identity. However, a secretly funded group is pursuing Sarah, and consequently Ash, led by Sam Worthington. For the first half of the movie, Ash consistently manages to outwit them using his clever methods.
The action thriller, previously called Lioness, has been renamed Wildcat and will be released soon. A new trailer is available below. Wildcat features a parent turned action hero, similar to Liam Neeson’s character Bryan Mills in Taken.
