The film stars Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen (1899), Clara Rugaard (I Am Mother), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), and Steven Berkoff (A Clockwork Orange). The story follows Freddie Knoller, who is compelled to escape Vienna as the Nazis advance. Within this alluring but risky environment, he becomes infatuated with the club’s star performer and gets caught up in a series of events that will drastically alter the course of his life.

The book is illustrated by Thorn L. Knight, and though Fresh Cut Grass’s advice isn’t always practical, the story delivers a meaningful message. The author shared he was “really excited” to create something that families and younger readers could enjoy.
