The 23rd season of NCIS and the second season of NCIS: Origins will connect in a special crossover event. Mark Harmon will reprise his role as the older Leroy Jethro Gibbs, appearing in the Origins prequel, and several other beloved characters will return. Muse Watson will make a guest appearance as the older Mike Franks in a particularly inventive scene, but Roma Maffia, as Vera Strickland, will have the most significant role among the returning legacy characters. This crossover also provides an opportunity to finally resolve a storyline involving her character that was left unfinished over a decade ago.

The 1987 film was a commercial failure, earning less than half of its production cost at the box office. It tells the story of a group of children who must protect the world from a team-up of classic monsters bent on causing chaos. Although it didn’t succeed in theaters, the movie eventually gained popularity through home video and developed a dedicated fanbase who consider it a masterpiece – some even prefer it to The Goonies.

From the beginning, Star Wars: Visions has been promoted as a collection of animated shorts that aren’t part of the official Star Wars story. This meant you could watch any episode without needing to know anything about what came before. But the recently released Volume 3, which came out on October 29, 2025, includes three episodes that continue stories from previous installments of the series.

By this point in his career, Stanley Kubrick was taking increasingly long breaks between films. Four years passed between the release of A Clockwork Orange and Barry Lyndon. He then waited five years for The Shining, seven for Full Metal Jacket, and a full twelve years before his last film, Eyes Wide Shut, came out in 1999. Sadly, he passed away just days after submitting the finished film to the studio.

Now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD, this film marks a bit of a shift for Liam Neeson. Like Leslie Nielsen before him, Neeson was primarily a dramatic actor until the success of ‘Taken’ turned him into an action star. Though he’d seemed to move away from action roles, he was convinced to try comedy, following in Nielsen’s footsteps by playing the part with a completely serious demeanor. For Nielsen, this type of role, while defining his career, unfortunately meant he was never again seen as a serious dramatic actor. But times have changed, and Neeson does a great job as the son of Frank Drebin. He’s done comedy before, appearing in Seth MacFarlane’s ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’ (2014), but this ‘Naked Gun’ remake is even better. It successfully captures the spirit and style of the original with its classic slapstick and silly humor. In a time when many movies are dark and serious, this film offers a delightfully dumb and refreshing escape, and audiences clearly agreed, with the film earning $102 million at the box office.

Released in 1995 and directed by Tobe Hooper with Robert Englund in the lead role, The Mangler wasn’t a critical success—Stephen King himself considers it one of his least favorite adaptations. Despite its strangeness, the film is worth revisiting, particularly for its exploration of capitalism, its gritty industrial look, and its steampunk-inspired villain. Hooper’s direction and Englund’s energetic performance transformed an already outlandish story into something surprisingly atmospheric and meaningful, and its themes feel just as relevant now as they did then.

It’s interesting that Batman, despite often needing help himself, is usually hesitant to ask other heroes – even his allies in the Bat-Family or the Justice League – for assistance. However, he almost always jumps at the chance to help them, or even heroes from other universes, with incredibly difficult problems. He doesn’t do it out of generosity, though; he simply believes he’s the best person to get the job done.

When asked about the prank war between the Wolfs stars, Clooney admitted that they’ve done “terrible things” to each other, and he thinks it all started when they were filming Ocean’s Eleven. He recalled:
