The Western genre, which was once a powerful force at the box office, has been on a steady decline since the 1980s. Yet, surprisingly, this downturn has allowed for more creative freedom, experimentation, and peculiarity in the stories being told. Instead of adhering to the traditional “lawman versus criminal” narrative, these modern Westerns often delve into intriguing themes, with some of the most talented writers in cinema crafting exceptional tales. One such British acting legend delivered a performance that ranks among the greatest villain roles ever portrayed in the Western genre.

Initially, many admired Jenny when she made her debut, but she lost fans’ favor by seemingly attempting to oust McGee and coming dangerously close to causing Tony’s demise. She was cunningly manipulative in the pursuit of finding her father’s murderer, showing little regret for her actions. As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but sing praises about “Top Gun: Maverick” that’s currently streaming on Paramount+. This film has shown why Pete “Maverick” Mitchell was indeed the best pilot to ever come out of Top Gun academy. Ever since its debut on the streaming platform, “Top Gun: Maverick” has been a dominant force, spending an astonishing 845 days in the top 10 list. That’s more than two years! Interestingly enough, Ridley Scott’s 2024 legacy sequel, “Gladiator II”, currently holds the number one spot. But don’t let that fool you; “Top Gun: Maverick” is a close second and truly deserves all the accolades it’s been receiving.

In essence, the near flawlessness of the Toy Story films is somewhat marred by the release of the 2022 movie titled Lightyear. Though it belongs to the franchise’s primary narrative, it ventures into a more complex, almost perplexing realm. Compared to Toy Story 1-4, which are among Pixar’s finest productions, Lightyear significantly falters in meeting that same level of quality and fails to capture any of Buzz’s most memorable moments.
