The film follows Jack Reacher, a former military police officer, as he investigates a seemingly random mass shooting committed by a highly skilled sniper. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie (who would later direct Mission: Impossible films), Jack Reacher premiered in 2012 and was based on Lee Child’s 2005 novel, One Shot. While critics gave it a 64% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie was a box office success, earning over $215 million worldwide on a $60 million budget.
