Beowulf is the second film in director Robert Zemeckis’ series of motion-capture movies, and it’s arguably the least known. While inspired by the ancient Old English poem from around 700 A.D., the film updates the story’s location and events. One reason it’s not as popular as Zemeckis’ other films is its mature content. Unlike those, which are now holiday favorites, Beowulf explores adult themes, including a controversial nude scene with Angelina Jolie – though it’s animated, so some don’t consider it truly explicit. Despite this, Beowulf is a bold and visually impressive film that deserves more recognition.

While these eight movies aren’t typical, they’re engaging enough to attract a wider audience and get people curious about them.

Sylvester Stallone appeared to retire from playing Rocky after Rocky V in 1990, following years of intense boxing movies. But he surprised audiences by returning to the role in Rocky Balboa sixteen years later. Then, in 2015, the Rocky story continued with Creed, a new film that focused on Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan, while still featuring Stallone as Rocky. In an interview with GQ, Stallone shared that he managed to avoid having his character killed off, which was initially the director Ryan Coogler’s plan. He explained that he was lucky to escape that fate.

According to FlixPatrol, the TV show Severance is currently 9th on Apple TV’s global list of most popular shows. It recently returned to the top 10 in the United States, landing at number 10 as of October 25, 2025. The show has an average rating of 7.8 and is a top 5 hit in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mongolia, Peru, El Salvador, and Taiwan. Globally, Severance has moved ahead of the show starring Rebecca Ferguson, but remains behind the sci-fi series Foundation which is at number 8.

The film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere tells a portion of Bruce Springsteen’s life story. Directed and written by Scott Cooper, it stars Jeremy Allen White as “The Boss” and focuses on a particular period in his life and career. The movie primarily details the creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album, Nebraska, and Cooper has explained why he chose to focus on this album rather than one of Springsteen’s more famous works like Born in the U.S.A.

Sheridan teamed up with Hillwood and Paramount Television to create SGS Studios, a huge 450,000-square-foot facility in Alliance, Texas. It’s now the biggest studio space in Texas, capable of handling four major film or TV productions at the same time. According to a report from Collider, the state of Texas invested $1.5 billion in the project.

Harlan Coben, the author behind many popular books, recently released Lazarus on Prime Video. While Coben has been working with Netflix to adapt his novels for several years, Lazarus marks his first original series not based on one of his books. Coben recently told US Weekly what would need to happen for a second season of Lazarus to be made.
